I was thinking a Volvo V70 Convertible or Saab 9-3 Vert would be a good solution, too.

I can guarantee that someone in this guy’s friend or work circle recently insulted his GV80 by calling it an overpriced Hyundai sometime in the past 2 weeks, and calling him poor.

Seems the difference is a human says “hmmm, those bright flashing lights are making it hard for me to see, I’ll slow down” and a Telsa says “No idea what that is, best not to worry about it”.

Humans gonna human.

With consumer demand dropping fast for the Cybertruck, Elon is going to have massive production capacity and no market. He is going to find a way to make the government buy Teslas as fleet vehicles as a way to “save money” in his role at the Department of Government Efficiency (or whatever they called it). Just look

Just wait until the incoming regime unleashes cars with dysfunctional FSD next year... no pedestrian, driver, or passenger anywhere will be safe!

The idea of replacing some inconveniences with yet ANOTHER headache to manage

“we are in the midst of a multidecade, secretive arms race.””

That VW dumbed down their lineup JUST for the US and doubled sales says a lot more about how dumb Americans are than it does about VW.

This is a deeply stupid vehicle. Why even bother, VW? And what the hell does “Pro” mean as a name in context to a family minivan?

He put all his money and effort into the engine and now wants to get it back when someone else takes over the rest of the project, which is okay as-is for a rat rod, but if restoration is your goal, needs something hard to do or hard to source everywhere you look.

ND. Old ironic cars like this are fun and exciting for about 10 minutes, then they’re just massive regrets that take up valuable space in your garage.

I was careful to not click. We need a feedback mechanism that encourages journalistic reporting, chapter and book length stories, artistic content and other long form mechanisms of art and entertainment.  Not snippets to feed short attention spans.

I agree, with the exception of the Sentra, but at least it still offers a manual.

Completely agree, especially on point #4. Nissan CVT’s have an awful stigma attached to them.  Even people who don’t really know anything about cars repeat that they’ve heard Nissan CVT’s are unreliable and I’ve heard people say they won’t consider a Nissan because of their transmissions.  I believe they still use

Neom is a region, maybe more like a state or a metro area rather than a single place. So does it have a boring suburb? sure. You could say the same about NYC, that it’s supposed to be this metropolis but then only show a picture of White Plains or something.

Respect the GOAT. The LS400 will cart you and yours through town and across the country forever, and they’ll still carting your descendants through the wasteland in comfort long after civilization collapses.

Weird how merging a bunch of terrible, poorly run car companies didn’t work out..

We don’t have that much jail space.

Eh, perhaps. But, who knows, this person may be insured to the point where that would be a favorable outcome.
