David, I take some issue with your use of adjectives. Now, I’m no perfessional writer, but I know that van is not “beautiful”. It might be in beautiful condition, or I might call it pristine. But there is nothing about it that conveys beauty.

I take issue with the whole ‘boat’ thing.

You’re right there. I think either VW or Mazda need to introduce a compact/midsize cab-over type 4 dr. pickup. Ford could do it in a heartbeat with a variant of the transit van.

I have a feeling Mazda, once again is too late to the luxury party. Does anyone there remember stillborn Amati? But, it would be nice to see another class leader from Mazda.

Funny you should bring it up. I remember thinking that to myself when the HR-V was introduced. “What, the CR-V is just too big and ‘off-roady’ for you”? 6" longer is just too much to handle? Sorta like the Passport vs. Pilot and Atlas vs. Atlas Cross Sport.

I was just looking at one of these at my local Repo place. I was surprised at how inexpensive these can be. I thought $15-20K was a pretty good price.

Seems like an opportunity for automakers/dealers to clear out all their car inventory and retool to make nothin’ but SUVs. And pickups. LOTS of pickups, cause gas is cheap, don’cha know.
