Nothing new. Ford was decontenting in the 90's. I leased two Contours (*embarrassed). First one had rear discs. Two years later, they replaced the rear’s with drums. If nothing else, it taught me the value of rear disc brakes.

You’d better be towing every day to justify that pig on the road ;)

It was partly a tongue in cheek remark. I know that today ‘wagons’ are the kiss of death, but Nissan just needs to recapture some mojo. Wagons are coming back, mark my words. They’ll just be called Sport Crossovers or CrossCountry Sport vehicles, Low SUV’s or Space Vizzions.

“MK6GTI might be on to something. Take me back to the “good old days” of cars, and I’m not even a Boomer, just an elder millennial. Maybe that’s worse?”

How about an Altima wagon? Now that they’ve added AWD they can jack it 1" and call it a cross country or whatever.

“The steering is heavier, the brake and accelerator are heavier and the ride is stiff but composed and forgiving.”

Ya, I think they should stick with the zoom-zoom tagline. It really is an effective description.

The paint job is the only point of this article. An engine swapped S-10 would hardly be worth talking about otherwise.

I’m glad to read this story. It supports my last experience with a SantaFe loaner in 2017 when our Mazda CX-9 (7 yrs old at the time) was in the shop. I chalked up the completely uninspired feeling to having a base model with base engine. But now to know that even a fully loaded SantaFe is thoroughly unremarkable, I’m

Look elsewhere in Bentley’s marketing bumpf.

Correction. Boomers enjoyed a carefree, reckless youth without worrying about showing up on social media.

“they only make about $600 on the top trims on a car that only ranges $16-19k. There’s literally little profit in going lower.”
 And if you believe that....

I like being a little funky, outside the mainstream, but not too far out. I want to drive a premium vehicle, but don’t want to pay for it. I want Japanese reliability, but not a Toyota. I think this where Mazda has positioned themselves. I’m a Mazda customer. Just sell me a new Mazda 6 wagon goddammit! (Ok, I admit,

“As for this mess perhaps Tesla can use it’s in car systems to communicate and see how many are in line and how long charge will take to limit the batteries to say the 80% charge that takes a fraction of the time to go to 100%. If the station has a wait of more then say 10 cars have it act as such.”

He’s hoping that someone at GM will want it for the corporate museum. That’s the only possible explanation.

Meanwhile IIHS and other car safety nannies are getting all worked up about hood height and air-gaps for pedestrian safety. You’d never stand a chance with this thing, regardless of horns.

Who commands more respect in the paddock?

It is very weird. I’m not a vintage expert by any means, but I own a copy of Art of the Motorcycle (Guggenheim show) with the radial engine’d Megola on the cover.

That’s awesome. How is it that I’ve never seen this before?

“...that Peugeot pepper mills remain the best you can get.”
 That’s a bold claim there dolsh. ;)
