Oh I know, I’m agreeing with you, I was only providing more reasons why conventional trucks are popular among ICE trucks in the US, where we don’t regulate length the same as Europe.

It actually looks about the same wheelbase as a conventional day-cab truck, just the windshield is pushed much farther forward due to the lack of a “normal” hood. And they probably kept the backwall in the same location as a day-cab so as not to increase the trailer gap.

It’s also much easier to work on a Conventional than a Cab-Over. Only having to a open a hood is much nicer than having to tilt a cab. Also cheaper due to less mechanical bits since you don’t have to tilt the cab.

I feel like that would be great PR for IronPlanet/GovPlanet (now also Ritchie Bros) if they lent them some LMTVs they have for sale to be used for a month to distribute supplies. And bonus, I don’t think you need a CDL to drive one either.

That is false. Washington law RCW 46.61.425, specifically states that you are allowed to exceed the speed limit in order to safely pass someone on a two-lane highway. As someone else said, other states have similar laws.

People are overly harsh on the NC. The wheelbase and length only grew 2 inches. It weighs 300lbs more than a US spec ND, but it also has 12 more HP and about the same torque as an ND. The suspension is supposedly a little soft though.

Fun fact, you can pull the M113 5.5L (N/A not supercharged) engine out of any model that offered it, and plop it into one of these with the original wiring/ECU and it works. The ECU compensates for the slight increase in displacement, and you have at least a 40HP and 74ft-lb increase in power using all OEM components.
