Actually, funny thing, the vinyl record industry is actually seeing an uptick in sales, because of millennials.

I’m always curious if in the early 1900s there were people crying out, “This current young generation is killing the horse-drawn carriage industry!”

The Hawaiian island Lanai is doing just that. They recently converted to only solar power, with Tesla utility scale powerwalls to hold the charge. Now there’s only 3,000 people on the island, but it’s a start.

What!?!? Did Stef just give Miatas a compliment? Is the world ending?

Fuel pump. You had to pressurize the fuel manually. On long races there would be a co-driver, who was responsible for keeping the fuel pressurized. Some of them also had manual oil pumps.

And except for Australia, since that is where the video was taken. And most trucks in Australia are still conventionals, not cab-overs.

Haha, good luck with that one. Everyone knows Wranglers don’t depreciate. Especially when the owner has “invested” in sweet off-road mods.

Yeah like Dusty said, I’m pretty sure the car sounds are captured by another camera/mic and overlayed with the drone footage. If you just used the mic on the drone all you would hear is the whirring of the props. The music probably helps make it less obvious that the car sounds and footage don’t line up 100%.

Haha those videos remind me of when I took my girlfriend to her first monster truck show. Just a small local show, but I warned her, this will be loud. After the first truck hit it’s first jump, she just looked at me in disbelief and shock.

Raph, I’m curious about this mythical 3AG engine you are speaking of?

Not everyone is racing to win. If you want to win two-wheel drive classes, you should probably get a FWD car (unless you have mad driving skills), but if you want to have fun, get a RWD car.

Commercial trucks are somewhat modular in that you can order a Freightliner with either a Detroit Diesel or Cummins engine, and either of those with an Allison, Detroit, Eaton, etc transmission. This is because they all use the same standards of bell housing patterns defined by the SAE.

I thought it was really good! I think Chris H., Matt, and Rory have some great chemistry together and have become like friends. I think this showed especially in the Cuba segment. Chris and Rory seemed to be genuinely having a great time at the drag race. Their emotions actually felt genuine, and they just seemed like

Unless it’s those giant stone monsters found at Rally Germany.

When I collapse replies, the whole page shifts up, so that I’m now looking at the next article (or sometimes two articles down depending on the length of the comment string) instead of the comments I was just reading through. That’s my biggest complaint so far.

I concur, my GLK Bluetec will remain one of the best vehicles I’ve owned/leased for a long time.

Just a fair warning if you have not been to the desert in the winter, but it can still get pretty damn cold, especially at night, in the California/Nevada desert in February. I wouldn’t expect the temps to be much warmer than an “average” Portland February day, just sunnier.

I was on a mountain biking trip with an ER nurse once, he said the reason he chose mountain biking is he usually only sees broken bones and concussion from mountain bikers in the ER, where road bikers have usually been hit by a car.

As a resident of Portland, I’ll comment the city has been doing a piss-poor job of filling potholes the past few months. They finally filled the potholes caused by our snow storms, but only a month to two month later their patches have all broken back open, and now their are more potholes than before.

Oh man, I was dying to see this thing in action at the last Oregon Trail Rally I attended, but unfortunately they were having engine troubles and didn’t run the super special stages at PIR. I wish I could have seen it run.
