I find it doubly heartbreaking that he died like this. Not fighting Rossi, Marquez, Zarco and Viñales for the lead in MotoGP, not dicing it with Sykes, Rea and Davies in wet conditions over at SBK, but on a fucking cycling accident on the road. It just feels wrong, and unfit for an athlete like him.

Find a cream puff first generation Lexus LS400, dump some of the rest of the money into making it cosmetically and mechanically perfect, and drive the shit out of it for the next 20 years.

First off, Sterling Heights is to Detroit what Nassau County is to NYC. Second, yes, people do go to Detroit on purpose. Generally not whiny scared ones who believe everything they hear about a place they’ve never been.

I had a 1972 MGB GT as my first car, that color too. We called it the great pumpkin! It had a bit of a game to play - you had to guess if the clutch cylinder had lost it’s fluid or not. So step 1 - make sure the car is in Neutral or there is nothing in front of you! Step 2, start the engine. Step 3, try to put it in
