There’s the average age range for schizophrenia, but there’s definitely people who develop it later. My grandmother got it in her 30's and I (a woman) developed it before puberty. When I brought up my concerns about it to a doctor they wrote it off because I was “too young to get it for a woman.”

He could certainly have undiagnosed bipolar disorder or schizophrenia. It’s not uncommon for people his age to be diagnosed for the first time. Also, maybe he has been diagnosed. We don’t know his mental health history.

I’ve seen bipolarity go undiagnosed until pretty late in life even with it having been discussed for about 20 years. You have to be surrounded by people who care enough to notice and push you kicking and screaming into treatment. I don’t think he has that.

Having a breakdown and on top of that the global humiliation of losing your mind in front of the tabloids and gossipy public is not something I wish on anyone, even an asshole.
