I would actually suggest you hit the dismiss button on Laserface: creepy nut job who keeps screenshots and records of things people have posted in the comments here over a year ago in order to use against them in entirely unrelated conversations.

Considering Elon Musk is a perfect avatar for the moment - an insanely rich person pretending to care about tackling climate change while actually just ensuring he and his ilk coast through the inevitable catastrophes with as little personal impact as possible - yeah, he’s the person of the year. Person of the century,

They call those LorryLiftMilkteadays

I just don’t see how this could work. I mean, do they even have Saturdays over there?

Kareem had a good career going for him before he joined the Lakers. He was the star of The Bucks who won the NBA championship in the early 70s. So Buss didn't discovered him.

For a really quick second I thought that was Tucker Carlson on the right.

Oh, man. The MOST? Out of the whole 20+ years of the site? Hard to say. The stuff that sticks out most to me is never really a pan in the face of great reviews (or vice versa), but the endless comments our Best Movies of the Year lists will get for not including some popular favorite that got a good-but-not-great

Yeah that one was truly inspired.  Anyone over about 30 already thought The Real World was a pathetic marker of the decline of western civilization, but dropping a ramrod like Dole into the middle of it really leaned into the show’s absurdity.

My family was supposed to got to some games that year that got cancelled shortly after 9/11. They got moved to the end of the season and we got to see them win game 116. They won the game by beating the Texas rangers and the last out was against Alex Rodriguez, and the entire stadium went crazy when that happened.

Loved Norm Macdonald’s Dole, but there was none better than Robert Smigel on Conan. Just his interjection of “Dole!” Could make me crack up.

The AVClub: Its origin and purpose still a total mystery.

Take off the low-rise jeans Hal. Hal, take off those low-rise jeans!”

Welcome to the Island of Misfit Toys.

2001: A Space Odyssey

Yeah - same here; I still hang around here because I’m not ready or really willing to go to another site, but even without knowing about all the trouble at the AV Club office until now, I could tell by the overall tone and quality of the articles that things were not well. That, combined with the messed-up Kinja stuff

Does Will Smith find Robert Denby, or does he remain elusive?
