it was all copied in the first place from yoyoi kusama. there was a recent travelling retrospective of her work, everyone [abovenoted, signifier & sign; marc jacobs ads, etc & ect] took it from there. leigh bowery, years ago, as well—but he KNEW it & wouldve acknowledged it—which, so help me, makes a difference.
