People complain about the right denying science, but it seems to me the left is every bit as willing to ignore the science if the science isn’t politically correct.
If you think that it’s fair that a male-bodied person should be competing against females then you don’t even science.
If I, who am biologically and self affirmatively female, take hormones to improve my performance, I would be banned for cheating even if I kept the range inside the very top of what considered within range for women.
Maybe it’s about fair competition for college scholarships for female athletes?
I guess nobody will be able to complain that women’s sports are boring to watch when both are being played by men.
“Being biologically male is not what grants men an edge in sport. It’s testosterone.” This is a largely untested theory without much scientific support. What limited science has been published indicates the opposite: Men have inherent biological advantages over women.
“So you can put to bed this idea that there’s an enormous trend of trans girls who have undergone zero medical intervention but are allowed to dominate girls’ sports simply on the strength of their IDing as girls. That’s basically not happening.”
The latest peer research indicates that hormone therapy does not significantly reduce the biological advantages MtF athletes have.
This is excellent news. Quite appropriate and long overdue.
Not sure here that the daughters were not simply being polite for publication.
Are you trying to get white people to like you more with this hot take?
They did take precautions, notice they put it on Jezebel and not the Root.
Come on, Keira. I thought we were better than this.
I watched them but actually found them rather unhelpful when I was in labor. All the videos of birth I saw were of women screaming their heads off for hours during labor, unable to walk or talk during contractions. I didn’t have that labor. I actually stayed at home way too long and almost didn’t make it to the…
They aren’t patients and I’m not a medical professional. They are clients and I am solely emotional and physical support during birth, nothing medical.
Yeah, I had my baby out in just a few pushes, minor tearing that was sore but didn’t make walking hard after, and I was in my regular clothing within the week. Then I genuinely enjoyed and was deliriously happy during the newborn period. I want to be honest to the range of experiences, but I don’t appreciate attempts…
I am a doula and I am shocked by the number of women who don’t want to watch birth videos before giving birth. I send them peaceful YouTube videos of all kinds and they never watch them. They’re terrified and want to remain in the dark. It’s very strange to me but alrightttt.
Because you seem to think there’s some benefit to Keira’s actions. And there isn’t. Giving birth used to be between a mother and her doctor or midwife, then people started spouting that men should be there to ‘understand’ and that it would bring them closer to their spouse and child. So they’ve been there since the…
