We can all agree why Harrison Ford agreed to finally play Han Solo again after all these years of hating the character and the movies.

Just got out of the theatre. SPOILER ALERT!!
Had a great chuckle watching the end credits when Mark Hamill gets SECOND billing behind Harrison Ford and is only in the film for 30 seconds and doesn't say a word. And what was with all the talk of him getting "in shape" for the role beforehand. He didn't do ANYTHING!!
Night Shift for the win!!
Without Jennifer Lawrence…forget it. She was the centre of the entire story and without her it will look like a straight-to-DVD knockoff that damages the legacy of the whole series. A large group of kids grew up on these movies (and the books) and they will have moved on to something else.
It was there to show the difference between the now city-civilized Truman who "went north" to be a cop in Chicago, and backwoods Briar.
Features a very young Ben Stiller as a wannabe mobster.
His name is Briar and he lives in a trailer and keeps a 2 week old deer head in his fridge. Brother Bill Paxton gets killed for a cigarette business, so Jack Dalton (errrr Truman Gates) and Darkman (Briar Gates) head to Chicago for justice and revenge.
Been feeling a little "Swayze" lately. Last week was 'Point Break'. Next up was 'Next of Kin', featuring Liam Neeson as a Kentucky hillbilly.
Definitely her most famous role. And like the dude on TCM said last night…she is only in it for 15 minutes. Crazy.
Catching up on stuff piling up in the PVR.
Point Break: How many times did the writers of Fast and the Furious see this? Looks ike they just crossed out every reference to "surfing" and inserted "street racing".
Rocky III:. More of the same. Loved Mr. T as Clubber Lang, before he became a cartoon on the A-Team. He was…
Since the wee Dingleberrys are now both in school full-time, I have had more time to catch up on movies I haven't seen at all or want to re-watch. PVR'd De Palma's "Dressed to Kill' and Coppola's "The Conversation". Knowing the killer's identity in DtoK really took the edge off the suspense.
We had a version here in Canada, hosted by Tino Monte. I had the pleasure of dealing with him while working at a local video store. Seemed like a big ass to me.
Not surprised that the meat is fake. How could it not be?
I think Rousey got caught up in her own hype. There is a great clip from her appearance on Jimmy Fallon where she lays out the ways Holm can beat her, and it played out exactly the way she said it could happen.
Saw some highlights from the Rousey/Holm UFC fight last night. Maybe RR should have watched 'Rocky III' before getting into the ring?
But, seriously. An album trying redeem his reputation really has to be followed by action. If Justin Beiber doesn't change his persona as a smug little shit in dealing with actual people, then a handful of apologetic songs just sound hollow and phony.
Time for him to take a break and go away for bit. Like years.…
And the evil oil company exploiting the native population is front and centre more than the 1933 version. A product of its time for sure.
Caught the 1976 version of King Kong. Not as horrible as people claim it is, but it is more fun than the Peter Jackson remake. Took awhile to get to the island though. Lots of criticism about Jessica Lange's acting (her debut), but I thought she was fine for what the part required of her.
When I was about 10, the, ABC station in Buffalo used to play old monster movies after school. I stumbled upon the Japanese classic 'Rodan' and was freaked out by the giant caterpillars more than anything. Just the sound they made drove me crazy.
Went to a huge book sale last weekend thru my local library. Working my way thru a bunch of DVDS I picked up for 5 for a dollar. A mix of high end (Peter Jackson's King Kong, Gangster Squad) and low (WhiteOut, Gambit). Most of the stuff is probably mediocre but for 20 cents I will watch anything. When I am done with…
I picked up one of those 4 pack DVD sets for $4. The Thing, Prince of Darkness, They Live and Village of the Damned.
