Trivia time: Last director of a major studio film to take his/her name off the picture and use a pseudonym. Tick tock…tick tock…
Trank could have taken his name off the movie. What was the last high profile director to take their name off a movie? Any guesses?
'Dream Lover' with James Spader. OHH yeah.
Read and enjoyed the first book before I saw season 1. Tried to read and gave up on The Fall after the first 20 pages was just recapping what happened in book 1.
I honestly didn't know what the fuck was going on the first few minutes as I had fallen asleep and woke up to see a cheap B&W b-movie about wrestling. Then the guy with fangs showed up.
Lots of stress dealing with people of advanced age. Secretly wish they would just pass on to ease the pain for themselves and for loved ones.
I remember first seeing his Sinatra impression in 'Down Periscope' with Kelsey Grammer. I had no idea he was Khan on 'King of the Hill'.
Is it just me, or was the same actor who plays Zach playing the kid who helps Settrakian and Palmer in the past.?
On a bit of a horror run this week. Watched the original (and best) version of The Omen. Still creepy after almost 40 years! Gregory Peck really sells what could have been a completely over-the-top performance with his usual brilliance. Great use of atmosphere, music and special effects, especially the now infamous…
He is 10 and has autism. We thought a controlled environment would help him be able to sit thru an entire movie beginning to end. Turned out ok in perspective. We were happy the way it turned out, besides the crappy movie anyway.
Took the kids to the drive-in to see Minions and Pixels. The oldest wanted to bail 1/2 way thru Minions, which was pretty lame. 45 mins of story padded out to 89. Stuck it out til the end however. No Pixels though. Re-watched Midnight Run. Awesome stuff and De Niro was on fire.
By the time Disney barrels thru their entire animated features with live-action remakes by 2023, they will just go back to the beginning and start rebooting them again.
I missed last week's episode so I didn't realize dude in the wheelie chair was Palmer until Sertrakian and he met at the shelter opening.
That was Samantha Mathis by the way.
She will always be a social media freak of nature. Followed by the tabloids, which is what the family wants of course. Bruce Jenner's sports accomplishments were almost 40 years ago, and he no longer exists. Caitlyn Jenner has done nothing to deserve any award having to do with courage in sports.
From what I understand, the family would not go ahead with the Diane Sawyer interview unless she got the award. All about the PR synergy.
I think they should have waited a bit of time before trotting her out as a spokesperson for Transgender people. Had read somewhere that there was a big behind the scenes push to give it to her to promote her reality series, which coincidentally premieres next week.
Spent the last week on holiday with the family. Loaded up the Family Truckster and drove up north with two kids yammering in the back seat for 5 hours. Not much pop culture though we did manage to live without TV for much of the week which is a good thing I guess. Finally got a solid offer on the sale of my childhood…
My father is 76. He has lost his wife and suffers from Parkinson's. He has become very bitter and has started to blame 'the coloreds' for the problems of the world, something he never said when he was a younger man. I think old age makes some of us lose control of the filter we have when we are young. Some people,…
