If I’m in Romain’s shoes, I’m retiring on the spot. Nobody ever gets that lucky twice in their life. Walk away while you still can mate.

Divine intervention give me a break. This decades of engineering development by dedicated groups working on motorsport safety. There are dozens of factors designed into the cars and the procedures that saved Romains life today - I can rattle of the following from the top of my head if you need reminding.
Fire suits…
Full stop. Without the halo, Grosjean does not survive that wreck.
The halo. If that crash had happened 5+ years ago, there's a fairly high chance he'd have died.
almost as if he had a halo protect him :P
I just imagine this is how that guy looks... LOL!
the front crash structure on modern F1 cars is amazing, plus the halo cutting through the barrier protecting his head.
Same here. That is a long time to be engulfed in fire. I figured he would have issues with lung scaring from all the heat and smoke. Just goes to show how well those suits are made and the only “weak” links are where the gloves and boots meat the suit. I assume they overlap some for protection.
Seriously. I cannot wrap my mind around it.
He would have certainly sustained some nasty injuries if the halo wasn't there. His helmet would have taken the blow, and he very well might have been knocked out—and extraction would have been awful.
The halo appears intact as well. Hard to say he walks out of that crash if the halo’s not there.
The fact that Romain is still alive and even managed to get out by himself proves that modern F1 chassis’ safety measures are amazing.
That comment was so fiery Richard Hammond should have been driving it.
You’re far from alone
What’s John Oliver done to enrage you?
Dude, you need to relax, you sound like a Craigslist post, everything is exactly as fucked up as you think it is and there’s nothing you or I can do about it. The meteor is inbound.
Donny Bone Spur’s legacy will obviously (hopefully?) be laws enacted to back up previously assumed norms. One of Donny’s clowncar lawyers was on Bill Maher’s show last night on HBO and as Max Brooks said afterwards, arguing with these people is like arguing with the black Knight from Monty Python.
After struggling for a minute or two to pull a joke out of this story I came to the conclusion that she may have done that intentionally (if a true story).
Coulda been you in that sandwich... ;)
The thought of spending $70K on a car makes me shudder, and I make over 200.
