This isn’t about Syndergaard “getting over himself.” Ramos is a bad receiver who doesn’t frame well, doesn’t throw well, and doesn’t block the plate well. He has clear flaws. Syndergaard, who throws pitches with crazy movement and sucks at controlling the running game, is a pitcher for whom those flaws are a problem.
