Why give Ramos the Saturday off? Instead, give him that Sunday off. If he’s going to get a day off, make it Syndergaard’s start.

Noah Syndergaard is loud and fun. Sometimes he says things that are “controversial” within the stuffy universe that is MLB, but he’s not a guy who is causing problems with teammates or anything like that. We need more of him in baseball.

Ramos needs rest. Catchers need rest, and Ramos isn’t young and is often injured. Why not have his rest days be on Syndergaard’s days?

I’m on Syndergaard’s side on this, but pitchers are high-strung lunatics. Not just MLB pitchers. Minor league pitchers. College pitchers. High school pitchers. Rec league softball pitchers.

That shrimp alert is cool but their cover image is causing severe emotional distress.

Mets fans seem upset with Diaz for blowing last night. I don't get it. Beating the Phillies on a walk-off walk is pretty great, and it wouldn't have happened without Diaz.

This is a reminder that Pete Alonso, a rookie who currently leads MLB in home runs, won the home run derby, and has already set the NL rookie home run record and Mets home run record, hasn’t had a “gee, look at this guy smash taters” article yet, unlike about ten other sluggers.

As a fan of another PAC12 team with aspirations of having a very good year, it’s silly that this game, which could have gone either way and doesn’t demonstrate much more than that Oregon and Auburn are pretty evenly matched (especially with the game at Auburb) is gonna have huge ramifications down the road for the

Mmarcella Hazan's tomato sauce. It's tomatoes and butter.

These guys suck, but I wouldn't mind if we could go back to the less polished balls that we used last year.

I heard a college announcer refer to Kyler Murray's style as a QB at Oklahoma as "lackadaisical" compared to Mayfield.

It’s impressive how many not-particularly-well-known cuts from their first handful of albums just rock.

Sseparation Sunday.

It took me a couple listens to get into this one, largely because the album starts a little weak compared to the back half or two thirds. Everything from Blackout Sam on is great. The first four tracks are just good. But hey, I like good Hold Steady. This is on par with Teeth Dreams for me.

People overrate the impact of in-game management. The difference in odds between the right move and the wrong move is much smaller than people think.

A recent poll put the Padres’ announcers ahead of the Mets’ announcers. Mets came in third behind Padres and Giants. Jon Miller has always annoyed me (pronounce Carlos Beltran’s name how he pronounces it, you dingbat), but I can at least see the appeal.

Come for shirtless Michael Conforto, stay for Dom Smith on a scooter with a "LFGM2019" license plate.

Here’s Pete Alonso yelling at KFC for being an asshole:
