I used to think I hated Gin and Tonics, but it turns out I love gin and I’m meh on the tonic, so as long as it’s not too weak it’s okay.

To be fair, Harvey’s stuff looked reasonable and he was throwing a little harder. If Jay Bruce were an outfielder instead of a pile of hay stuffed into a jersey that sometimes hits balls hard (I know he had a game winning HR but Nimmo is so much better), those doubles might have been singles.

The York Daily Record article says that the father in law referenced and one of the women are both active local political sorts. I bet that’s where this stems from.

What difference does it make?

Some of the debris thrown on the field was brought on by bad officiating. The sixth goal was caused by one of the most blatant uncalled trips I’ve ever seen.

Again, who gives a fuck?

In 2013, he had an era of 2.27 and a league-leading FIP of 2.01. The internet’s full of gifs of 2012, 2013, and 2015 Matt Harvey eating people’s faces. Through those three seasons, he had a 2.53 era, a 2.65 FIP, a 1.000 WHIP, and 9.5 K/9.

Who gives a fuck?

A lot of the coverage/attitude towards Harvey I’ve seen (more elsewhere than here) is annoying. People act like there’s something wrong with his heart or attitude or brain or that he’s selfish for wanting to start. He SHOULD want to start. Getting demoted to the pen should piss him off.

It works the same as challenging an offsides after a goal. In both cases you’re waiting for a stoppage.

All sports that allow challenges should allow penalty challenges. If you’re limited in how many challenges you can use, it’s not like this would increase total challenges by all that much. And certainly, “hey that guy just crosschecked Eric staal in the goddamned neck” is easier to review than whether a puck or a

People on reddit (why I’m there I have no idea) seem to think that it’s okay that Asdrubal Cabrera is some sort of magical out-seeking missile on the basepaths because he’s hit for two weeks.

It’s not like he was trying to walk Kendrick. He was brought in to throw strikes and he didn’t.

AJ Ramos is bad.

It could be worse, but it’s certainly a win for BLA. MLB minimum is just over $500k, and if Mejia gets to the majors and establishes himself as a functional player (not a star or even an everyday starter, just someone who sticks in the majors), he’ll get low seven figures in arbitration. Say 3 years of 500k, then 3

What’s the point of a Monday day game, other than messing up weekly fantasy roster locking times?

The technology isn’t there yet. Fangraphs’ Effectively Wild podcast covered this about a month ago. Currently, the tech they use captures the initial trajectory and speed of the ball and predicts if it winds up in the zone. It doesn’t literally measure it the way it appears to do.

This was a stupid garbage ejection and I’m a Mets fan.

It’s strange how that worked. My dad hated Family Matters. So we never watched it. And it wasn’t any sort of content censorship since we watched pretty much everything else and Family Matters wasn’t exactly risque. But the few times I caught an episode when he wasn’t home felt like actual transgressions.

Give Link to the Past a try, if you like. It’s way more polished than Ocarina and doesn’t feel as clunky to a newcomer, in my opinion.
