“Your ideal world is weird.”
“Your ideal world is weird.”
Oh no, I just came up with an awful strategy. Send text chats to Facebook executives claiming to be a 15-year-old girl, and try to get them to come to your hotel. When they show up for sex, you say, “Actually I’m a programmer. Let’s talk about my code zdown in the conference room, or I’ll call the police.”
Is it pessimism, or narcissism? What does it say about us when the starting point of so much of our fiction is "Something wipes out all the boring pointless people and just leaves us, the interesting ones"? IMO, it speaks to an intense attitude of wish fulfillment.
