Someone once advised me that when dealing with anyone difficult, I should figure out what they think they are good at and compliment them on it. Also, someone underestimating your intelligence or ability can frequently work in your favor.

I’ve taken as my professional mantra “What would a white man do?”. I even have my prototypical mediocre white man in mind: his name is Chad Jacobson, and he works at a small investment firm in Atlanta. Chad’s not as smart as he thinks he is, but no one he meets knows that at first, because he’s confident AF about how

Ah this is the worst! I’ve experienced this somewhat, I work in the tech industry now and the only thing that has been successful for me is cutting through the degrees/titles/years and trying to connect on a general interest level. It definitely involves a level of “don’t give a shit who you are, what do you think

Drinking less.

I quit using the gum a little over a month ago. I smoked up to 4 packs a day. If I can do it, so can you! Good luck!

I’m going to walk my dogs more. They look so happy when we’re out together.

That’s very similar to my 2017 goal. I’m trying to stop myself from giving up on things too soon if they’re not perfect on the first try. I’m going to allow myself to make mistakes and get frustrated and come back to it. I like “progress not perfection.” Hope it works out well for you!

Happy New Year all!

I like that idea! Last year my New Year’s resolution was to drink more rye whiskey. Nailed it. This coming year I’m going to cut back on my drinking and definitely start going to the gym more. I started working out again earlier this month and it feels really good so I’m going to focus on that. And stop smoking

Fuck a resolution - I’m trying to work on my perfectionism so instead of setting myself up for misery, I’ve decided 2017 will be about progress not perfection. Whatever that looks like. How are you jezzies thinking about 2017?

On the other hand you can’t slander a dead person.
