This is the first Marvel movie I’ve wanted to see at the cinema since Endgame but in the UK Omicron is causing enormous misery, especially in London where the infection rate is shooting through the roof, so it’s not to be. First world problems and all that, I know, but I was just starting to feel vaguely okay about

Knauf gave an interview with the AV Club back in 2013 saying how the show would have ended: https://www.avclub.com/daniel-knauf-tells-us-his-plan-for-the-end-of-carnivale-1798236491

There was also talk of a comics version which I’d have loved to see, but sadly never happened.

But won’t somebody think of the children?*

*E.g. The ninety five percent of people younger than him who have to watch his films. Or choose to. Ah, I clearly haven’t thought this through.

Best Picture winners are rarely considered to be the best film of the year (at least with hindsight, though there are exceptions) so while I thought The Shape Of Water was only quite good, it was pleasing for something odd to win it for a change, instead of a biopic or a clumsily written message movie.

My quite poor claim to fame was that I saw Cate Blanchett in a small theatre production of Sweet Phoebe in 1995 in a theatre that seated about 90 people, and she was absolutely superb in it. My only regret is not requesting her hand in marriage, but I guess it is what is.

I get what you’re saying but this episode had a great moment where the Doctor was getting pissy with Yaz, and to me highlighted just how good Whittaker can be, and I definitely blame Chibnall for her being okay but rarely nothing more than that.

Likewise, and thanks for the heads up about the date, that’s good to know.

I really liked Girls5Eva too and wish more people were aware of its existence.

Thanks for that, I’ll give it a go soon then.

Is If Chins Could Kill worth reading? I’ve read a few autobiographies recently and felt a little disappointed by them (with way too much dull childhood tales and not enough material after they became famous) but I did buy it recently so will give it a go if people recommend it.

No mention of Joe Pera Talks With You debuting for a third season on November 8th? And I thought you guys loved Joe! I’m shocked and disgusted in a very shy and quiet but incredibly charming manner.

Edit; Or maybe November 7th, I’ve seen two different reputable sites claim different dates, confusingly.

If they don’t now cast IronE Singleton I’m going to be outraged.

Yeah, whenever I’ve been telling anyone about the show I’ve mentioned that it’s essentially very similar to The Life And Times Of Tim but with a just much younger protagonist. It’s a shame he didn’t call it The Life And Times Of Tom, but I’m guessing HBO might not have gone for that...

I’ve concerns as to how Dune will do now as it leaked online last weekend, and add that to the HBO Max premier it might end up being considered a flop even though an awful lot of people watched it.

There’s been a lot of poor ones this year but I really liked Ten Year Old Tom, the HBO Max show from the creator of The Life And Times Of Tim.

With over 600 credits this was always unlikely to cover Strange Frame: Love and Sax but it’s still a shame as it’s a rare(ish) adult project that she was involved with, and one I only saw about a fortnight ago. It’s a very odd thing too, quite clunky in places, but I did admire certain aspects and Strong is very good

I love this show so much, but because I find it so calming in some ways I hope it just ignores the pandemic, though I’ve no idea if it will or not.

That’s really interesting, I didn’t know that. Though I did spot that it was McNabb after about twenty minutes of going “Man, she reminds me of someone, but I can’t quite think who...”!

I rewatched the two nineties movies last month and really enjoyed them, and was surprised that the second is a rare example of a sequel that’s better than the first film as it’s even more playfully macabre and they gave Christina Ricci much more to do.

I also watched the 2019 animated movie and it’s painfully bad, I’m

As much as I loved aspects of Capaldi’s run I wouldn’t call it consistent at all, his doctor changed each season and only seemed to settle in to a stable persona in the final season, while in season 8 Clara was all over the place, sometimes terrified at the drop of the hat, sometimes gutsy and over confident. Moffat’s
