Given how comedies very rarely get nominated, let alone win, I’d be amazed if they did have much of a sense of humour.

I was quite disappointed by the first series and thought it was fairly patchy - but the second is a big step up, and a lot lot funnier, so I’d recommend giving that a shot if you haven’t so far.
I completely agree with you, I like some bleak and violent Dredd stories (I recently read the Judge Death and co on a space ship story and it’s pretty fun / disturbing stuff) but the Dredd I love the most are the early to late 90's stories which were often extremely satirical and funny and strange, and it’s a shame…
I get where you’re coming from and it does vary from series to series, but sometimes a poor ending can just really spoil a show for me (GOT, Lost, Dexter) whereas other times I’m more forgiving, especially if, to use a cliche, the journey was far more important than the destination.
Given how the main series ended I don’t think I can be bothered to watch any of these, at least not on a weekly basis, and I’m more than happy for them to come to an eventual end and then if they’re well regarded / reviewed I’ll watch them then.
I was just looking in to this and all I could find was a reference to “his tempter” and the suggestion he was at times angry to a ridiculous extent. As a fan of Better Off Dead I’d be interested to know more though, if it was ever the time for these to come out it would be now.
Due to being Oscar nominated I finally got around to watching Over The Moon as I’d seen all the others in the Best Animated Film category. It’s an odd old beast, the first part being vaguely realistic as Fei Fei’s mother dies and she’s miserable and then some, and after a time jump we’re four years on and she’s upset…
Yeah, it’s such an odd decision to have not gone in that direction, and I’d love to know why the filmmakers went with the ending that they did.
Likewise, but I still have a problem with the ending...
*SPOILERS*
Surely it’s only a matter of time before Disney re-release Endgame, just so that the obsessive fans go and see it enough times for it to take back the top spot. Then they’ll re-release Avatar again, and so on and so forth until the end of time.
I’m a big fan of Faith, and Jody Houser, and really wish it was an ongoing series, I did tweet her vaguely recently and ask if that was a possibility and she said she’d love to write it, it’s just up to Valiant to wish to publish it.
That’s very true, I’d be amazed if he doesn’t end up there, and I just hope it fails miserably.
Yeah, looks like for once I was being overly cynical. I just hope this is the last time he gets work on a major channel, and has to skulk off to one that no one watches.
I despise Piers Morgan an enormous amount, having had to live through his years as a tabloid editor and his career as a tv presenter, and witness the misery he’s caused, his hypocrisy and the horrendous opinions he holds, but I can’t help but wonder if there was a producer telling him in his ear to storm off in a huff…
Raya And The Lost Dragon - I’m rewatching many a Disney classic at the moment which might be why I was so disappointed by this, but it feels like Disney by committee, and as much as I love Awkwafina elsewhere I found her character to be a bit annoying at times. It’s no disaster, just a bit of a disappointment and not…
Anything with a surly, emotionally repressed Father breaking in to tears and finally telling his son he loves him. Because yes, my own father was a stern c*** who never did that, and apparently being aware of this doesn’t help in the slightest.
Plus: Toy Story 3 and Up, as Pixar used to be great at doing such a thing.
I really wanted to like this and I’m fond of many a Disney movie, but it felt a bit like it was put together by committee, Awkwafina’s dragon isn’t that funny at all, and the moralising is really on the nose and tiresome. It’ll probably be something the very young will like, but I can’t imagine many people in their…
Christ, I haven’t heard the word “Amazeballs” used in years, and had really hoped I never would do so too.
Just like the live action Kiki’s Delivery Service I can’t see how this will be a patch on the film, or why it has any need to exist. I’d like to be proven wrong, but I just can’t see the point of taking such a visually imaginative work and transforming it in to a stage play.
Babe: Pig In The City (1998) - The first Babe is of course a sweet, gentle underdog tale and when the sequel was released I presumed that it’d be more of the same, and didn’t enjoy what I got instead. But twenty three years on and while it’s undoubtedly a weird fucking film, dear god do I love it, it’s visually…
