Funnily enough during this most recent UK lockdown I’ve been checking out a lot of unusual animation that I’d not heard about before. and had to do a lot of searching to find recommendations, and in case anyone’s interested I think the following were all really intriguing and definitely worth a watch:
Chico & Rita

I’ve liked some episodes but I despise the Timeless Child nonsense to such an extreme that my friends have suggested psychiatric help might be required! I’m glad you’re liking it though and I still hope the next season will be good, I’ll miss Graham but Ryan was poorly handled and so I’m quite pleased he’ll no longer

The first couple of TZGZ shows didn’t do it for me at all but I’ve been pleasantly surprised by Devil May Care, Tudyk’s great as the lead and it has a fun sense of humour about itself.

Nah, the BBC take themselves far too seriously for it to happen, which is a real shame in some ways, especially given what a mess Chibnall’s making of the show right now.

I’m guessing that it will be Tom Baker, and this will finally see the MCU and the Whoniverse (as it should never be called) merge.

I watched Young Rock last night, I’m very fond of Johnson as an actor but found this to be horribly smug and self-satisfied. Randall Park was great as the interviewer and a couple of bits featuring the ten year old version of Dwayne and his meeting Andre The Giant were fun, but the rest of the time it just went on and

Thanks for the reply, maybe I’ll watch it one hungover Sunday afternoon in the future, but I won’t rush to do so given everything you say.

I’ve never seen the 2005 film, is it worth watching? Or has it aged poorly?

I guess, but as mentioned below there’s also all of the Green Lanterns, Fire (of JLI fame), Green Arrow, The Green Hornet, The Incredible Hulk and She-Hulk, Martian Manhunter and Ambush Bug (the latter all when naked, admittedly!). That is a fair amount of green supervillains that you list, I just never thought of it

Re: “Green is usually considered a more typical “supervillain” color” - In forty odd years of reading comics I’ve never noticed that, I mean, I know there’s the Green Goblin, and the Joker’s hair is green, but that’s about it, and I can think of plenty of superheroes with green outfits (like that Vision fella, for one

I was hoping for an animated episode ala The Simpsons, though knew it was extremely unlikely to ever happen.

I wish I’d seen this review before watching it, others I read suggested it would be fun, but it’s actually surprisingly boring, it wastes Cage and does nothing fun with its concept at all.

Maybe, but it’s 2021, we’re in the middle of a pandemic which still has the potential to last a long old time if more variants emerge, and this isn’t actively hurting anyone, so I truly don’t have the energy to get annoyed by it.

I watched the new South Korean sci-fi flick Space Sweepers - to start off with, it’s by no means the best sci-fi movie ever, some of it has a very Star Wars feel to it, a couple of the action sequences especially, and something happens towards the end which frustrated - but overall I really liked it, I thought it was

Whether Allen is guilty or not I truly don’t know, but the phrase “Where there’s smoke, there’s fire” is fucking idiotic and has destroyed many innocent lives.

I’m with you on that, there’s been the odd high point but Mermaid, Beast and Aladdin (which sadly he didn’t survive to finish) are all Disney at their very best and full of charm, something which is all too often missing.

I’m sure Katzenberg wants to take credit for revitalising Disney’s animated films, but the recent documentary Howard suggests (very convincingly) that it was Ashman (and those he collaborated with) who was responsible for the success of those movies.

I agree with everything you say there, and his death should not have taken place. But he wasn’t alone when it happened, and was at least surrounded by loved ones which is (a very minor) something. Ref: https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-beds-bucks-herts-55881753

I’m with you on that one, and I liked how bright and colourful it was, and have always been confused by the kicking it’s got in recent years after initially receiving mostly positive reviews.

I’ve not seen Mary Magdalene but How To Talk To Girls At Parties was almost astonishingly bad, it’s rare that I quit watching a film when I’m half way through but I did with this as it was so painfully terrible, which doesn’t bode well for her running this show.

Then again I might be being unfair, and it is a film
