This is obviously a good thing (and though I know cinemas survive on food and drink sales, I really wish that for the time being they were banned too) but as a glasses wearer it means I won’t be going to the cinema any time soon, as I find whenever I’m wearing a mask it causes them to fog up, I’ve tried the various

Re: Video shops vs Streaming - Sadly I can’t agree, growing up in a very small town in the UK in the 80s and 90s meant only the most mainstream US films made it on the shelves of our local video shop, with at best one or two foreign films being available each year, and if I wanted to see anything decent it meant a

I’m no fan of Russell Howard either, and just felt a bit embarrassed for Asim Chaudhry as he was awful on it, which made for a bland series all in all.

Funnily enough I didn’t mind Phil Wang on the show, but then I went to see him live and he was really poor, and went down massively in my estimation.

Series 6 is my least favourite (as in I still enjoyed it, but only Tim Vine constantly impressed me, though Liza Tarbuck would have if it wasn’t for the fact that every so often she clearly couldn’t be arsed to properly take on a task) but yeah, series 8 is definitely up there as one of the weaker ones. Joe Thomas

I get the logic for them starting with seasons 8 and 9 due to the whole youtube thing, and as a huge fan of the show I still enjoyed them a great deal, but I wish they’d started with either season’s 5 or 7 to highlight the show at it’s very best.

Sounds like a great idea and one I’d reall- reads: The ongoing video series” - and I’m out. But good luck!

Crossing Swords - Which I’m sure we were promised a review of, but I might have imagined that. Anyway, given that it’s from two of the writers from Robot Chicken it’s better than I expected, occasionally a bit reliant on shock humour and swearing but there’s a fair sprinkling of silliness in it and it’s that aspect

Quite, and at least with Toast Of London he’s still clearly showing that unlike Linehan he’s still capable of making really funny tv.

It’s weird as Graham Linehan co-wrote the quite frankly brilliant sitcom Father Ted, but unfortunately since then he has become an astonishing cunt, and one of the most tedious human beings ever to have lived.

I feel the need to apologise, I’m sure your daughter isn’t such a thing, I just thought it might be funny to be ridiculously over the top in my response, but I’m sorry if it caused any upset.

Well it appears you have raised a cunt.

As long as the new lead is goofy I don’t care if they’re male or female. There’s way too many heroic horror leads elsewhere, and The Evil Dead should be the one series where the main character is a bit of an idiot.

There aren’t words to say how sorry I am and I hope things improve for you soon. I’m relatively lucky to be based in the UK where there aren’t any outbreaks of violence, but we still have a horribly depressing amount of problems when it comes to the police and how they treat black people / minorities in general.

Hairspray (2007) - I’d not seen this before and started watching the live NBC version but struggled a bit so swapped to the movie, which I enjoyed a great deal, it lags in the middle a little and it took me a fair while to get used to John Travolta in that fat suit, but the rest of the cast are superb, the majority of

Also while it may have the most amount of seasons in the US, it’s nothing compared to this British sitcom - https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0069602/

Edit: Gah, just noticed this was pointed out elsewhere.

I’m based in the UK too and saw it then, but have to disagree with you about Sheen’s take on Tarrant though, he’s an actor I normally have a lot of time for but I thought he was pretty pantomime-esque in the show.

Oh I agree, and I’d be absolutely amazed if he was innocent. It’s annoying as I used to know one of the researchers who worked on the show (and who features in the ITV documentary) and she was convinced of his guilt, but I’ve lost touch with her over the years so sadly don’t know what she made of the documentary. I’ve

I thought it was pretty clear that they thought Charles was innocent, they didn’t say point blank that was the case but it definitely suggested it in a quite heavy handed manner.

Yeah, I love this show a huge amount, the first season was all kinds of charming and delightfully funny, but then it became something truly amazing in the second year, with the episodes revolving around his grandmother being especially poignant and beautifully affecting work.

A good point, well made.
