Only sort of on topic but I saw Daniel Kitson introduce a recording of The Interminable Suicide Of Gregory Church on Thursday night and that was a real highlight as I never thought I’d get to see it.

I went to see that, it was a panto version of Hook and he was majestic in it. It was also post Arrested Development / Out Of Practice, so it wasn’t like his career was in the doldrums, I think he just liked the idea of being in a panto.
They did say a while back it was going to happen, but I’m not sure when. Also, if you’ve not read the book Toast On Toast yet I’d definitely recommend it, it’s a rare example of a comedy cash in book that’s genuinely really funny.
I really like Matthew Highton (and recommend his special on the stand up streaming service NextUp if it’s available in your country) but this left me a bit cold, it’s a nice enough idea but not a particularly funny one.
I’ve lived in London for almost eighteen years now and moved a few times, and compared to most flats that place looks pretty great, yeah there’s the odd problem but I’ve seen a ridiculous amount of places that make prison cells look attractive.
I really can’t understand who’d want to watch this, life is already pretty horrendous right now and the idea of seeing a movie which predicts abject misery is the last thing I want.
That said, Trolls 2 was a big hit so what do I know.*
*This attempt at humor only works if you hate Trolls as much as I do, admittedly.
I completely understand where you’re coming from, and would definitely appreciate a historically accurate take on the story, if only because it’s such a fascinating one.
I don’t blame you, and I’ve now watched the first episode and wish it was very different in many ways.
To be fair it does open with the caption “An occasionally true story”, so it isn’t really trying to be a faithful take on her life in the story.
I quite like the first Scooby Doo movie, it’s very silly and daft but it’s tongue was firmly in it’s cheek and it made me laugh a fair bit. The sequel’s horrendously bad, but the 2002 version is definitely worth checking out if you’re in the mood for some breezy, lightweight fun.
I rewatched the Volleyball footage and don’t think there was any use of vampiric powers, which to me makes Laszlo’s enjoyment of the game even funnier.
I’m surprised this is back so soon as I know that shooting was shut down due to the lockdown before they finished the finale, but maybe they’ve found some crazy way to get around it (an animated segment, maybe?) or just hope to be able to finish shooting before the episode airs.
I hope you get the chance soon as it’s an absolute delight. The Morrison run is one of my favourite ever comics series and the show captures it’s spirit really effectively, which I never thought it would. It’s not perfect and there’s a couple of slightly weaker episodes, but as a whole I loved it a huge amount.
I can’t say I agree, I tried to watch it last year but got to the hour part and gave up, which is incredibly rare for me as normally if I’ve got that far I’ll stick it out. I’m glad others enjoy it, but I just found it tedious in the extreme.
I thought that but there might be a good reason for his absence, perhaps he’s unwell, or a family member is.
He may well be fine as a human being but as an actor I find the characters he plays unbearable, he all but ruined Frozen II by being so ridiculously over the top.
Huh, before reading this interview I liked the guy but afterwards felt he had no idea just how fucking lucky he has been, and lost any and all respect I’d previously had for him. Not that he’ll care, and he’ll probably go on to have a great career while I’ll be dead in two years or so. Here’s hoping, anyhow.
It’s pretty much right at the start, but the intro to it is around the minute mark, and they start reading them at 1 minutes 50 seconds.
I’m normally a fan of Katie’s writing but thought this review was terrible, I have no interest in her long, dull story at the top of the piece, and there was no real insight in to the episode, just a list of things that happened.
I felt that way. It’s a perfectly fine sitcom, possibly better than most network comedies, and the cast are all superb, but it’s really not doing anything that hasn’t been done countless times before.
