I loved the first season of this show so much, and found the ending devastating, but this new episode didn’t quite work for me if only because after killing Janice I’m struggling to sympathise with Barry, and it feels like the writers still want us to do so. I could be wrong, and I hope I am, and I’ll definitely keep…
Not meaning to be snarky in any way but superfluous means unnecessary or excessive, and I don’t think that’s what you mean about the film given everything else you say.
I’m disappointed that House of Fools is missing from the list, for one thing it’s frickin’ Vic and Bob, but also because Berry’s superb in it too, one of his daftest but most lovable characters.
Also his one off spoof of Jesus Christ Superstar (or homage too, perhaps) AD/BC A Rock Opera is really fun, especially if…
Even though my aunt had MS, and indeed died due to it back in the early 90s, I keep on reading the title of the article as him being diagnosed with sclerosis multiple times. My brain really isn’t doing a top notch job today.
I remember Monkey Island 2 on the Commodore Amiga having 12 discs, which was insane given many games came on just the 1, and there was a huge amount of disc swapping and waiting around for the next screen. But that didn’t stop me playing it right through to the very end as it was such an amazing game.
Despite the mixed AV Club review I’ve been watching Miracle Workers and really enjoying it, but I have to say that I was a bit disappointed by the finale, it’s by no means terrible just a bit predictable. For anyone interested, a full review is here: https://comedytowatch.wordpress.com/2019/03/27/tv-review-miracle-work…
I’m afraid I don’t know, it is a BBC production so could possibly turn up on BBC America at some point, but bar that the only way would be by torrenting it.
Oh, there are many of us in the UK, I’m a member of a comedy forum where pretty much everyone hated her and thought she ruined the first two years of Capaldi’s run.
I’m enjoying it a lot too, and really hope it comes back for a second season.
Re: “I think we didn’t really make a ton of adjustments—if something was really loud we would pause because you wouldn’t be able to [the dialogue]” - That’s not strictly true, Schur did shoot several planes out of the sky causing hundreds to die, but no one really cared as Natalie Morales is so goddamn amazing and…
As long as Clara dies in the first episode and is replaced by literally any other actress in the history of Who then I’m 100% behind that.
There are shows on, the site’s just decided not to cover them - here’s my list (which covers both the UK & US):
I sort of half agree and half disagree with this review, I did find it a fair bit funnier than Dennis did, but at the same time feel that the pranking subplot was a disappointment and though they could have really put the boot in when it comes to toxic masculinity it was just a soft kick instead. For anyone…
I don’t know, I’ve always been fond of “Drokk” from Judge Dredd, it works in the comics at the very least.
Everyone’s made very good points, I guess my concern was due to not wanting to see a backlash against him as he was being hyped up so much over just one film, but I do regret saying it now as it’s clearly no bad thing at all, and I want to thank everyone for responding so thoughtfully rather than calling me an idiot…
It does, and it is a very good point. I guess I just found it a bit odd that someone who had directed one (really great) film was getting the level of attention that he did, but as you and others have explained it is obviously a good thing so I am glad it’s happening.
I’m a big fan of Key & Peele, and really loved Get Out, so I’m wary about suggesting this, but if Get Out was by a white director would there really be this level of hype about his next film?
I was starting to wonder about the amount of CW reviews, Crazy Ex-Girlfriend and Black Lightening deserve them (though I know the latter only gets occasional ones) but it’s strange how many other CW shows are covered compared to series which are completely ignored.
I’m really surprised the site hasn’t covered Arrested Development, either in a one off review or episode recaps. Then again it might be because it’s been so weak, I’ve written two reviews and both of them were sadly negative, which is frustrating as it used to be a show I adored. https://comedytowatch.wordpress.com/201…
