I’m not sure we can. I’m having trouble finding a reliable source on the break cutting as well. A group of teens did vandalize school buses in 2005, including cutting breaks, but it looks like there weren’t any news reports linking Track to it until McCain’s campaign, and even then the reports are discussing rumors…
This is an excellent point about forgiveness, at least in the Christian worldview*, and is one that many Christians seem to misunderstand. Forgiveness does not put everything back to square one. You can forgive someone who commits a crime against you, but still believe there should be a criminal or civil penalty for…
Yeah, I mean, I drank diet pepsi as a kid because it’s what my parents had in the house, but I had maybe 1 every few days. I’m not poking fun at diet sodas, but at 12 diet sodas. That’s an alarming habit.
Looks like there were a lot of people deploying out of fort wainwright in the 2007-2009 time frame. It’s not entirely clear, but without concrete evidence, I just wouldn’t use the line to discredit him (fake news and all). Either way, beating up your SOs/exSOs/family is bad and a crime.
I just googled a bit and it looks like though there’s a bit of controversy surrounding the topic, he probably did serve in Iraq, though it’s unclear how long he was there or if he saw combat.
He drinks 12 diet cokes a day O_o
To your second point — I assumed she meant seen a naked man in the flesh, as in, standing before her. Not that she didn’t know what a naked man looked like. At 16, I also had not seen a naked man in the flesh (though knew what one looked like through a mix of education and movies), and would have also been mortified…
So does google:
Did we just become best friends?
Step Brothers was a masterpiece.
I’m holding out hope that the Academy nominates George from Dunkirk (I forget the actor’s real name) for his performance in Killing of a Sacred Deer, because he was the most chilling villain I’ve seen since Jackie Weaver in Animal Kingdom (who did get a nom for a movie that otherwise got no award love).
I would agree that it could have been a best screenplay nod, but they’re always going to reward safe, award-bait movies* over interesting or provocative ones . . . and golden globes is even worse than the academy on that front.
Huh. What a weird thing for a person to invest time in.
This is an interesting perspective — do you find all female nudity in film inherently sexist?
Am American. It is also like crack for me.
Get Out was a really strong directorial debut, but didn’t feel virtuosic in the way something like Killing of a Sacred Deer (not nominated, but my favorite of the year so far) or Dunkirk (nominated) did. Peele wants to direct more movies though, so I feel good about his getting there. His not being nominated as…
I too would have balked at the idea a few years ago, but I read up on it and it’s a phenomenon that has been documented for centuries, and which many recent studies and confirmed:
He’s Micky IRL.
Also, at the risk of face shaming, Ned RocknRoll looks like a Bob’s Burgers character come to life:
