I agree, though unfortunately I think the movie has had the effect of convincing him that he is funny IRL.

I think he’s mostly a good actor (I have a soft spot for Gladiator, The Insider, & Beautiful Mind, though agree that he was horribly miscast as javert). Every time I see him speak outside of a role though he seems like such a bummer. Paul Scheer has an amazing story about going to dinner with him once and Crowe…
Entirely possible, though I suspect it is less a preemptive strike and more an attempt at topical humor.
The whole story is confusing. I’m still trying to parse it. What we can be sure of is that Crowe is not good at jokes.
Yes, it was very weird. I think he was going for shock value to reel us in, but he is not the comedian he thinks he is, so instead it just sounded like he did something terrible.
re-Crowe. I think he was trying to make some kind of joke about what sodomy is popularly understood to be (buttsex) and what the definition can technically encompass (all nonprocreative sexual activity), but because Crowe is not particularly funny or eloquent, he failed miserably.
He did a Bezos:
On the one hand, who the fuck knows, on the other hand, that sounds very plausible.
It was extremely weird. It did not feel like they are friends who have a comfortable, joke-y relationship where they can make comments like that to each other (and even then it would be inappropriate in the workplace) where you would have expected there to be laughter . . . or at least smiling. Not that if one of them…
Fun fact about Kimberly Guilfoyle: she was once married to Gavin Newsom O_0
I’m not offended by the sexism so much as the comedy . . . wow . . . I’ve found Colbert disappointing, but this is really bad.
He was good for the young parts, but the combination of terrible old man make-up and Armie Hammer still having the voice of a guy in his 20s made the old scenes soooooooo bad. They should have cast Christopher Plummer as old Armie Hammer in that movie.
I kind of skimmed the buzzfeed article, but Hammer is a really good actor. The only movie I’ve seen him in that truly sucked was J. Edgar, which wasn’t wildly successful at the box office, but was by no means a rousing success. The Lone Ranger is actually a decent movie, and Hammer’s good in it — but deserved to flop…
I kind of like the tie. It matches the umbrella behind him.
I have mixed feelings on it. On the one hand, I would totally say that to one of my friends, so maybe it reflects an impulse toward friendliness and camaraderie. On the other hand, oof.
Prince Phillip and the Queen once met a British army cadet who had been partially blinded by an IRA bomb. The Queen asked the soldier how much of his eyesight he retained. Phillip quipped, “Not a lot, judging by his tie.” Which is to say, he’s a total dick, but at least he puts it all out there.
I liked her in Prime ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
We want this stories to be impeccably sourced. That can take time. Another Rolling Stone debacle could end this moment and set us all back.
Are there any rumors about him? He definitely comes off as a dick, but I never got a vibe from him like he abused women.
I loved The Lobster, but honestly prefer Dogtooth and Sacred Deer. Dogtooth is totally worth watching. I wasn’t a huge fan of Alps, however. It wasn’t bad in any articulable way, I just didn’t connect to it.
