I agree with you. Unity was an adjustment, but I've been using it on my primary desktop for a year now and I love it. It works efficiently and well. I don't understand why people speak of it with such bane and malevolence.

I'm puzzled as to why people hate Unity with such venom. Completely new and different, yes. Takes some getting used to, yes. But now that I've been using it for a year or so, I love it and can't imagine going back to earlier desktop environments. Unity is efficient and works well for me.
I'm a big fan of KeePass and have been since Lifehacker first posted about it years ago. I back up and sync my KeePass database in my SpiderOak account and also carry it with me on a USB stick attached to my key chain which also contains the KeePass Portable App. On my iPhone, I access my KeePass database via the…
I'm somebody who transferred all of my domains to Namecheap and away from GoDaddy during the latter's SOPA scandal at the end of 2011. I have no complaints. Admittedly, what you're buying is a domain name and a domain registrar should handle exactly that and do so well. But it is awfully nice to know that Namecheap…
I'm a big fan of Audacity. It has served me well for years. I love the fact that it's Open Source, and being a Linux user, I really appreciate the fact that it's truly cross platform.
Here's a Lifehacker article, slightly out of date, which more or less covers the same subject:
"It won't work with Linux unless you install Linux's exFAT drivers..."
I certainly sympathize with not wanting to store sensitive data in the cloud, but I chose SpiderOak over Dropbox precisely because the data is stored with a high level of encryption and not accessible even to the SpiderOak team (unlike the Dropbox team which will can access your cloud data at any time).
Sorry I don't have any suggestions. My camera also only has two audio inputs. Though, I've actually had decent results by simply mounting a pro external mic on top of the camera and pointing it towards the conversation. If you have access to one nice external mic (via rental?), that might be worth at least a test.
Love the show, love the format.... but please, you three should each be wearing individual mics. It will improve the quality of the audio tremendously.
Wow, many thanks for the pointer to the "TooManyTabs" Chrome extension.
I agree. Turpial still has a few kinks to work out (ie: storing your username & password in plain text), but generally I like it. Dare I say that maybe I like it more than Choqok, at least on Ubuntu. The alerts remind me of TweetDeck and I love the fact that I can have three different streams open at once.
When it comes to password safes, I still prefer KeePass for some fundamental reasons: it's Open Source and all aspects of it can be used for free. LastPass can't say that. There are any number of plugins that can accomplish all kinds of things on KeePass and it's never been hacked like LastPass has.
The sound of snoring has long been a bother to me.
Agreed - I learned about WeTransfer here on Lifehacker [lifehacker.com] and it's been a staple for me ever since.
I use CrashPlan+ for unlimited online storage and gladly pay the reasonable fee. I have over 2TB stored with them. This Lifehacker article made a considerable impression on me: [lifehacker.com]
Regarding my ATI card and Ubuntu 11.10:
Since writing that comment, I now switched to using SpiderOak for my KeePass as well.
Yes, I don't think so either, but wanted to make sure.
And another one falls. Any word as to how Tomato [lifehacker.com] stands up against Reaver?
