The best training wheels in the game is Palace of the Dead which is self contained and will get you from 1-60 quickly while feeding you access to abilities.

It is solo friendly to a point. As you do story missions you will run into walls that forever you to run dungeons as they are introduced, but so long as you are not a tank or healer, there is not much pressure on you to do anything other than kill mobs.

Not really. A running joke is that people look forward to spending a premium on Apple products simply because they are Apple. For those people this product wins because the premium is there in spades. I think only an air devotee wouldn’t get the nuanced joke.
