knows when something looks new and fancy so she can ask why we don’t have it

I don’t want a car without auto climate control - it’s great for ramping up the fan speed after the engine warms up when it’s cold out, or maintaining comfortable temps during a long distance trip. It drives me nuts when my wife starts messing with the fan/direction buttons.

That would be a great name for a punk band.

That’s what struck it off my list - at 6'3", I had to have the seat all the way back but the steering wheel didn’t telescope so I had to have my arms almost straight to reach the steering wheel. And the roof seemed a little low. I couldn’t do that every day, but I can easily in my Ridgeline.

In my limited experience from one incident, hitting a deer (actually, the asshole jumped into my driver’s door) was in the “act of god” category and didn’t count against me.

basically I need a car soon

This is beside the point of both the article and your post, but I don’t hate that color on that car. What’s the color’s name - “goldfinger’s urine”?

I’m the same height, and I was shocked at how comfortable that car was when I got in one at the auto show! Obviously it requires some flexibility to get out, but the legroom in the driver’s seat was shocking.

Toyota has a 16.5% stake in Fuji Heavy Industries; I don’t think that qualifies as “mostly owning” Subaru.

With all the other issues, no one will notice if you grab a replacement seat that doesn’t match the interior. It’ll all be the same color after it burns to the ground anyway!

I’ll allow it; hell, I’ll welcome it. If this kicks Lexus into gear maybe Acura will put out something cool, too. Acura supposedly has a turbo v6 in the works - it’ll obviously go in a CUV first, but we can hope for an actual cool car with the same powertrain. If only they both make a car that will kick ass (which

Came here to post this. Just OK production and run with it. Give the coupe a manual transmission option, and additionally stretch it into a 4-door to replace the Altima. After driving my dad’s, it’s my opinion that the current Altima’s i4/CVT combo works really well; it’s responsive, efficient, and reasonably powerful.

They’re too busy raking their forests.

No, it’s “pork”.

I just did a quick look on Cars - depreciation hits these pretty hard! You can get one for around $30k with low mileage. That’s not cheap, but it’s competitive with new Pilots/Explorers/etc. I’m seriously going to look into these when it’s time to replace my wife’s Pilot.

Civic Si Coupe

I don’t really care for VWs, but the plaid seats in the GTI are simply awesome looking. Why don’t more manufacturers use interesting fabric? I realize every aspect of a car is subject to cost-cutting measures, but the extra wow factor from a little accent on the cloth seats can go a long way.

While I don’t own - nor have I ever driven - either car, I want the Miata to be the answer. But I have kids, and even as an extra car for fun or commuting I can imagine corner cases (both kids get sick at school, I have to pick them up) that disqualify it for me (also, I’m over 6' tall...).

EVs have a stigma that they’re super complicated to drive, and require special treatment.

That’s worth resurrecting - can you imagine a new Silverado with a maple leaf instead of the bowtie on the grill? That would be pretty damn cool looking.
