I would still use mine if the HDD could be revived. I rocked it for 3 or 4 years through 2 battery replacements until the little 20GB drive finally died. RIP.

I'm also curious about the DSLR setup. My 9yo dedicated film scanner still works well enough, but you have to take multiple passes at different exposures to get the full contrast range of the film. Wonder if it's easier to go the lightbox + dslr route instead of buying another dedicated scanner.

Add a good late model TLR (like the Yashica that sygyzy has) to that collection. They're so fun and fast to shoot with since they were ultimately used by professional press photogs before 35mm took over. Set it to f16+, synch it to 1/60 and a big old extended flash and you get that 1960s tabloid press look.
