Lived there most of my life. This: Kansas but “God this is a boring state...there’s nothing to look at, as images of plain fields whizzed”, is 1000% accurate.

Finally a show that shows what real Americans look like. Tired of all the airbrushed beauty and manicured aesthetics. Let’s get real.

The set design in the show is just so amazing. I’m not a huge TV watcher, but I can’t think of anything else that ‘gets’ America in 2023, just on aesthetics alone.

My sense is Tom getting out of Shiv’s shadow and becoming part of Logan’s inner circle was a huge boost to his sense of self-worth, and now he is seeing it slip back away. Shiv of course is perfectly fine with Tom’s betrayal netting him nothing, and when Tom realizes that he becomes profoundly angry at her lack of

“Being able to run people over isn’t a selling point” was great, given that I feel every 10 year old boy hears about diplomatic plates and has a conversation with friends about how cool it would be to be able to drive on the sidewalk.

They talk like this because they are completely unaffected by political ideologies. Observation is easy since they truly are observing, political decisions have zero impact on their lives.

You gotta feel for Willa - she finally gets her glamerous NYC apartment with a Starbucks nearby, and her husband almost immediately decides to move them back to another desert.  All because he was interested in politics from a very young age.

Willa had some real bangers this episode. “Will we be able to live above ground?” The entire Connor sub-plot was hilarious starting with the opening offer being Ambassador to Somalia and ramping up from there.

Significant blood loss with do that to you.

Connor’s “the good thing about having a family that doesn’t love you is that you learn to live without it” deal... kinda applies to Roman with business sense. He never had a shred of respect from Logan or anyone in the family as far as business sense goes... so he could actually act without worrying too much about

Just an FYI. Freeform is releasing two episodes a week for five weeks starting Wednesday, but Hulu is releasing the entire second season on Thursday.

Perhaps ‘Arrested Development’ should find a different home. It needs ANUSTART.

The problem with the songs is we don’t have 40 years of emotional attachment to them. There’s not actually any way to fix that. I think the songwriters have done a really good job creating a sound for the band, enough so that it’s believable that these guys would have been big on Earth 2.

Had to laugh at the purported format of Top Chef: France. 1.5 hour quickfires? Curated pantries? Did they get smoke breaks every fifteen minutes? A dedicated brigade de cuisine for each chef?

...”guess we should be happy he has enough senses not to make out with Alicia.”

My favorite Roman moment from the original run was when he was somehow on the verge of getting together with a porn star but couldn’t stop himself from being pedantic about the difference between fantasy and sci-fi. Even though he knew that if he could just not be a dick he would’ve very likely gotten laid by a porn

Roman might have actually been worse than Guilfoyle, and was practically a proto-incel.

their roads met in 2009 at MIT, where Poppy studies and Ian teaches. We can assume that Poppy fulfilled her mother’s every wish by ending up in a Massachusetts Ivy League school

But she’s only charging Cam for 1300.
