I was more excited to see that a craptastic ZJ Grand Cherokee like mine can make the Durango look like a chump.

True, but it’s a manual and thieves are slowly losing the ability to jam gears haha. I do worry that it could get stolen, but I live in a rural area and that’s pretty rare.
Whew, good thing my vehicles already have vague brakes, wandering steering, no air bags, no tachometer, intermittent audio systems, temperamental HVAC, and not a prayer of GPS. It really removes any unsettling thoughts from the equation.
I hate when that happens!
Guilty haha
The 50 pack of Timbits is the single greatest thing to happen to humankind.
The golden age of diesel: slow, clattery, and smokey but dammit they could run forever on a tank of diesel.
I get 18 in a ZJ on 30s, but it’s all highway driving. The 14 mpg may be cause by all the stuff in the back and the larger tires. I would think a stock XJ could pull 18 mpg.
That is a truly awesome car in the making!
I haven’t been specifically tracking prices but I have noticed that some nice GTIs in my area can be had far cheaper than usual. I think the VW name is hurting pretty badly, the local dealer runs nonstop ads on the radio now. Before this, I’d never even heard a VW ad from them (multi brand dealer, pushed Chevy…
Neutral: I’m genuinely confused at this point as to what Volkswagen even needs to do to save face. I don’t even know where exactly they’ll have to start to fix this, as the cheating is spread out over several years and several compliance levels. Are earlier ones only going to have to meet Teir 4 Interim while later…
Will it is a Vega, it’s only fitting that it vanishes into a pile of rust like many of the GM cars of the era.
*jealousy builds* great looking Fox!
The Cosworth itself is a cool engine, especially given the technology of the era. Fuel injection in the 70s was something unique not to mention DOHC. I don’t even know the performance specs or anything for it, but there is a serious cool factor to these engines.
The only thing I can think is the hot little Cosworth under the hood maybe would make the owner care a little more about the car and keep it maintained better...? I really don’t know how well Cosworth Vegas lasted compared to standard Vegas. It’s a shame they didn’t catch on and allow the motor to carry over into…
Agreed! Fox body Mustangs in general are awesome looking cars in my opinion.
Cosworth Vega! I’ve always loved the looks of those!
The 1980s. There was plenty of junk cars that came out of the ‘80s but it was also changing times. Turbocharging and fuel injection were getting to be all the rave, hatchback cars started to become cool, import cars began to earn attention, some of the big American land yachts started to lose some weight, and diesel…
I thankfully haven’t had any issues with cracked heads yet, but mine does run a bit warm (200 to 210) usually. It’s safe, but it just runs a little warmer than previous vehicles I’ve owned. I’ve heard that the issue with cracked heads is because they are naturally tuned to run lean and so they are of course…
Haha yes! I’d agree, most of my CEL have been O2 sensor related, but I’ve also had to do the MAP and TPS. The 4.0 is an old cranky engine that doesn’t like all this damn newfangled technology.
