His choice of car is a little strange but it's whatever floats his boat. I would have gone with a 4-53T Detroit in a C10 Chevy but that’s just me.

Came here for DeMuro Aston warranty references. Did not leave disappointed.
Exactly! I’d be more willing to buy something like this if it was daily driven and had 150k on the clock. It’s amazing how bad a car can get when it just sits. It may look great from the outside but it’s probably a mechanical hornet’s nest.
If you didn’t, the torque twist would be ungodly! Honestly if it wasn’t an original survivor, it would be a neat LS swap project.
Can I do an LS swap on it?
I agree that the main selling point is the AWD. I’m from Wisconsin as well, and it’s getting to be that if a car doesn’t have AWD, people think it is useless in the snow. Right or wrong, I think that’s where more and more of the AWD CUV appeal is coming from: people just don’t know how to drive in the snow. It’s…
That sounds like a good opportunity and excuse to do the rebuild yourself. For that price you could easily turbo it or at least build it the way you want it probably for a couple grand. It would make an awesome project!
Valid point. I see what you’re saying, having points and counterpoints helps to eliminate a sense of bias. But liking a 996..... that.... that’s just not right.
I’ll take a BRZ in white and a WRX in classic blue, please and thank you Subaru.
I agree that this whole “article disappearing” is odd and definitely looks bad for Motor Trend. I don’t want to sound as though I’m criticizing anyone or any publication on this. I love MT and everything they put together and, while they have outside interest, they do a fantastic job of accurate reporting in my…
LS swap all the things! America is always fixing ze Germans’ problems.
A beater with a heater that carries some German prestige. NP at 2k
I agree that his post are genuine. He’s a car guy like the rest of us and he definitely had reason to worry. His livelihood depends on motorsports. At face value, the EPA proposals seem bad; I was worried about it too. In fact, I still don’t fully trust them, as they seem to be trying to bury their proposal under a…
I’m sure you’re right about that. I just thought it was interesting that they saw this as very bad but yet another Motor Trend writer saw it as no big deal. I just thought it was funny that one viewpoint stayed up online while one was taken down. Just my $.02
Further proof that ze Germans have a strange sense of humor.....
I’ve noticed that the Facebook page for Roadkill (part of Motor Trend) has been preaching quite a different story. Theirs has been more to the tune of “it’s as bad as we thought” and “the end of LeMons as we know it.” Maybe it was an issue of pressure from SEMA to take down the article or possibly it was more…
Will they still sport rear drum style brakes? Not overly familiar with the Taco but I thought I had read somewhere that the current model still runs drum rears.
The first generation Scouts have always been the best looking to me but I think it may have a rival now. That proto is gorgeous....damn shame it never made it into the real world. Imagine if that was as common on the roads as a Cherokee!
Agreed. America is impulsive, both consumers and manufacturers. Cheap gas comes along and we all want a megabox SUV. If gas prices start to sky rocket, a lot of people will be SOL.
NP but the homebrew emission mods scare me a bit. Overall I dig this car and it’s hiding a lot of potential under some of its jankiness.
