America needs more Utes.

I don’t really know how tight of a budget you’re on, but I’d look at throwing some new plugs and wires on the 4.0 if it hasn’t been done recently and maybe clean the throttle body and IAC. I did it on my daily driver ZJ 4.0 and it really made a world of difference.

I don’t want one. I can’t afford all the tickets/insurance rate increases I would suffer in the course of daily driving it.

A V6 engine in a car built to handle V8 power is a good idea. It makes throwing a snail and an aftercooler under the hood that much easier. The rest of the car is already built to handle it *cue turbo spooling noises*

I agree 110%, Gale Banks is a guy that hate coal rolling as much as any sane person. Black smoke in a street vehicle is power potential being blown out the tailpipe. It’s just ignorant dude bros that want to look like they’re driving a coal fire steam locomotive.

What’s next? No more engine swaps, the vehicle has to maintain the motor that it came from the factory with? No tires that may pose a detriment to your fuel economy? No more track days as they are too dangerous to the environment? It all may sound extreme but I would put nothing past the common sense lacking EPA. It’s

Yeah, they are very hard to find but I recall seeing a writeup about them on one of the Jeep forums. Can’t remember if it was the AX5 or AX15 transmission that was used

I know exactly what this survey is all about. There’s one question that gives the underlying motives away:

I actually like it. For a Jeep comparison, it’s kind of like mating the body on frame bits of a Wrangler to the comfort, carrying capacity, and coil sprung rear axle of a ZJ or WJ Grand Cherokee. New Wranglers are great but overpriced for what they are. New Grand Cherokees just aren’t stellar offroad anymore, heck

I see a snorkel, a factory fitted snorkel! I don’t care about the specs, I just want it.....SNORKEL!!

Correct me if I’m wrong but it looks like there is a fair amount of soft mud under the snow that the tires dug into as well. That turns “getting stuck in snow” into “getting stuck in a cold, never ending hell”

It was a real thing! Only a very select few cars ever saw the very rare Hemi Magnum engine. I believe they are cars with PINs of “SCAM1839043" thru “NOHEMIMAG84920247". They are very sought after, mainly because of the very rare engine config.

It wasn’t on a dealer’s lot, but I have seen a Jeep Wrangler 2.5L with a 4.0L decal on the side. Either someone had bought this Jeep like that or was preparing to get more out of it on a trade in when dealing with an underinformed salesperson. Either way, disappointment was to be had.

Where we’re going, we don’t need roads

But they are very cool to see in person. I saw these a few times while crossing into the U.P. from Marinette on the way to a jobsite. They are awesome to see at night, sitting in the river fully lit up. Not being from the area, I was really shocked the first time I saw them.

Great read! This is exactly what offroading is and should be about! A capable Jeep doesn’t need to be a costly Jeep.
