The irony of course being that the NRA spokespeople are the very definition of “crisis actors”. They are using the “I’m rubber, you are glue” approach...

I would imagine that lack of emissions regulations and an aversion to taxes is the likely answer...

Yeah, not to mention that his statement is false based simply on a simple premise : Have we ever seen Trump run or jog anywhere?

Yeah, that has always been the thing that I hate about people calling these services “ridesharing”. That implies that you are indeed reducing total impact by sharing rides with someone else. The majority of people use it as stated in the article, as “ride-hailing” services. I do try to use the LyftLine option whenever

It seems like the app is not really the issue though - do people really hate human contact so much that they won’t tell the driver where they are going!?

The chances of someone who is ill being in an Uber is just as high though...people are now using ridesharing as an alternative to calling an ambulance to get to the hospital. So, while theoretically an Uber is maintained more often than a bus, it is hardly a “clean” environment.

This is the first time that I really was curious about things that are “fairly well known in the STI community”...

I was super excited when I took a trip to Iceland that they gave us the cheapest 4WD option that they had (I mean, I more or less knew what I was getting into when I rented). It was a second generation SsangYong Korando, with a 6 cylinder Mercedes diesel.

Yeah, sometimes people do stumble on words, and his story sounds very plausible when looking at the video. It doesn’t seem he was trying to put a slur in there, but saying the first syllable of the word “Chinese” with a short “i” does sound bad on its own.

It looks like Viking 6 has a WA license plate, and appears to have turn signals (or are those stickers?). Did the cars have functioning electronics and legal indicators at some time, or were they just test platforms? Did you ever drive them on the road in Bellingham related to your username? ;)

Serious question : what size are the tires on Viking 2? they look like golf cart wheels, but it is hard to get a sense of scale. It seems tiny compared next to the Viking 1!

I think for once not even David Tracy is tempted by these...

Viking 23 is where it is at, and the build quality seems...not terrible? It is all made of carbon fiber and perhaps with new batteries could be back on the road! It won it’s class in the ‘98 Tour de Sol, which I am sure are some serious bragging rights among the nerd hypermiler crowd.

You have really stepped in it now : The great cultural duct tape vs. duck tape debate. Hardly micro, that is full on aggression.

Ha - I’m not sure if there is a word for what you are looking for, but I am in a similar situation with my Peugeot 505 wagon : it needs lots of little things (including a noisy rear diff), but starts every time and does what I need it to. Perhaps the word is: Faithful. I have faith that it will continue to function,

Why even use either term though, when the alternative, jerry-rigged is available. Oh wait...probably best not to use that one either, lest there be a German in the audience.

Shouldn’t the real golf bumper sticker be : “My other car is a Club Car”?

The mini CA license plate with Perot is the real gem. I would still probably talk to this person - I always like a fellow fan of Mercedes fintails.

Everything about your car is great. I don’t even care if it runs well or not, though I am guessing that it does.

I’m also not a big Seinfeld fan either.
