Wow, that is a lot of value out of a cheap car! And true to your user name, you must do a lot of driving to put 80k miles on it in 3-4 years. I am guessing that was not your only car at the time either...

Oh, there’s more than $800 total into it, more like $1,300 ( excluding things like tires/wheels that I have upgraded a couple times and then sold extras). I had to get the injection pump resealed about 7 years ago, which I couldn’t do myself with confidence. But it has been so reliable that over the past couple years,

My usual threshold is $2,000, though most under $1,000. Probably the best purchase I have ever made was a $2,000 Mercedes 190D about 3 years ago. I drive for work quite a bit and am compensated at Federal mileage rates.

I like your style, and also ascribe to the same philosophy. One of my cars I bought for $400 and has served me for almost a decade of camping and ski trips, multiple house moves, and hardware store lumber runs. I admit that I have put over $400 of parts into it, but even replacing the rear differential and tailshaft

Wow, I don’t think this was washed using Ammo NYC products, it looks like it was done with actual ammo.

Kudos for this info - Someday I want to have the opportunity to operate the hood on a 356 with my newfound knowledge!

Yup, people’s confirmation bias is very strong : the more uninformed people are to begin with, the tighter they hold to their false beliefs and reject information. Kind of a hard cycle to break.

Yup, you have correctly diagnosed this. I have come very close to doing the same thing while working on friend’s cars, all Japanese. European cars ten to either have a hood prop that is at the front, or nice automatic spring loaded hinges (like Mercedes). For whatever reason lots of Japanese cars go for the prop rod

They picked the absolute worst name - autopilot on an aircraft works because there is not much to run into in the air. It is guiding the plane towards the course based on a limited set of variables and the pilot is always there ready to take over and provide inputs.

Hip-hop, hands down. In quantity, variety, and style. Country has a very limited palette, and almost all American cars.

Oddly, that is the exact same argument that Badu is making...you can dislike and disagree with what an artist has done, but appreciate their art. And I do disagree with her on much of the content of her interview.

Also Team RatEagle here, and you bring up a good point about tactical advantage in a city. I mean, birds and rats already own pretty much all urban areas in the world. Really, in pretty much any environment other than someplace Arctic too cold for rats, this is the winning combo.

Oh, definitely - rats would just need to immobilize. Also, in my team selection rats and eagles are working together.

People do eat bullets occasionally, which is made pretty easy by our gun laws.

We are talking about rats like Norway rats, not mice. Cape buffalo would be overrun and eaten by rats that jump on its back and then chew through their hide to their insides. Rats can chew through wood and cinderblocks, I don’t think a buffalo would be a problem. Especially not one already blinded by eagle.

Gay men do tend to have very good taste in consumer goods, so if anything it should be a compliment. Also, it is strange irony that some bros seem to think that being INSIDE something that looks tough & masculine somehow makes them feel more secure in their heterosexuality. Because metaphorically, it would be the

As I mentioned in another post, this is commonplace in Europe (or at least in Germany). Except that vans are used, as they are far better than a truck for loading and keeping furniture clean and dry.

One of the things I appreciated about living in Germany was that this exact thing exists, because relatively few people own big cars and even fewer people own trucks. At any IKEA or major hardware store, there are people with vans that will gladly deliver what you just bought, and help you unload it. And oddly, there

Yup, thinking along the exact same lines. From an absolute mass and organization perspective, the rats have the clear advantage. Add in some aerial attack via eagles, and the other animals don’t stand a chance.

Team Rats + Eagles here. With the assumption of course that we get to direct the defense via some animal telepathy, of course.
