Her loss really...I don’t want to deal with the issues that a power roof brings, or for that matter, the type of person that won’t buy a performance sports car because of that.

I’ll give crows props for that - probably going to take it to the crow pawn shop and trade it in. They are smart birds and like to collect things...While on a Grand Canyon river trip I discovered that the ravens there have figured out how zippers work.

Agreed, but Tesla seems to be getting both wrong. From that Guardian article quoted elsewhere, their “modified work” program for employees that complain of injuries hits on both fronts : They face reduced pay and morale, and are assigned more menial tasks.

This! The moment I saw this Torch sketch, I was smitten. Damn it - this is what the world needs!

That fact would indeed lead me to question both her education and decision-making capacities. What other cars had she owned, Oldsmobile diesels?

While I am not really complaining - part of me was hoping that you would valiantly find a photo that contained a Cimarron along with the required, um...accessories.

The fact that someone in the force went through the effort to develop a graphic design specific to the district precinct of these officers, and to do a group order is just fucking chilling.

I’m getting a kick out of picturing this as being the first thing you say to them when you answer the phone, regardless of which ad they were after:

I was just advertising for a head and crank...so I’ll expect some texts from this cop soon.

Ding, ding!

I like it.

I think we may have just witnessed a novel breakthrough in front trunk design, with this two part passthrough clamshell opening. It is like a front tonneau cover tailgate. We need to check with Torchinsky on what to call this...

Though they call them dead, those pedals are usually found in cars that make you feel alive. Somewhere to put your foot to resist G-forces.

VW GTI - either an 83-84 Rabbit or the Mk2 version that came right after. They are fun to work on, lots of aftermarket, pretty cheap, and great for entry-level competition.

Not that much required, but the basics are a heated filter and valves to control flow between two fuel tanks.

Short answer : Yes - though seems like less interest now. It is much harder to do with newer diesels, so most of us who are still greasing it up are running cars from 2005 and older. It has gotten harder to get free/cheap used cooking oil as there is a bigger market now for used oil collection for commercial purposes

Plenty of diesels have head gasket issues too...especially in the early years of GM and VW diesels. But generally diesels use higher quality head bolts and are built more robustly, to take the stress and pressure required.

It looks like it must have some press-fit connection to the lugs on the truck. That brings up other questions of how to use it for multiple vehicles....Definitely only for temporary use, but indeed clever.

Let me give you that beep beep
