One of the things I’d like to see with contact tracing is that the person who tests positive is then sent periodic updates of the number of people tied to his/her infection, how many of them are hospitalized and how many die. I don’t know if that is possible, but if contact tracing is going to happen in any in depth

Yeah, it’s like Sunday’s incredibly powerful and sad NYT front page- the people who don’t give a shit don’t read the NYT.

I rather suspect that he doesn’t believe these idiots will listen to him now. He knows that they’re actively sticking their fingers in their ears and screaming, FREEDUMBS! The point is, the record shows that he said something was said, and no one can come back and sue for not being told.

Yeah that water is awfully cloudy looking. Just remember, the smell associated with pools is not the smell of chlorine, it’s chloromides, a chemical that builds up in pools when chlorine and contaminates from human bodies combine. The stronger the smell, the dirtier the pool.

The Drunken Driver Has The Right Of Way

“Any person who has travelled and engaged in this behavior should self-quarantine for 14 days or until they receive a negative test result for COVID-19,” the advisory said...

“If you’re worried about getting sick, obviously, or you want to distance yourself, it’s pretty much to each their own.”

If this were the 1940s I guarantee we would be in the Axis powers. Hundo P, as the kids say these days.

Ya, before I read the article I thought the same.  People who attended this, are not going to comply with a quarantine request.

“should self quarantine for 14 days if they have any compassion for others”

I think we’ve all pretty much already figured out that “compassion for others” is not a thing these people are interested in.

Lest we forget L7 as “Camel Lips” in 1994's Serial Mom. Good times, that flick.

I have always figured that since guys can adjust and scratch themselves in public without being ejected from society, cameltoe and VPL are equally acceptable. Not ideal, perhaps, but I can’t be convinced to care enough to wear thongs or fold up a pantyliner in the front of my underwear (?!?).

Euthanizing animals just because we can’t take care of them anymore is not a good thing. Euthanizing an animal because it is in pain or dying agonizingly, yes, that’s fine. But, perfectly healthy animals should not be euthanized because we can’t figure out a better way to take care of them once we’ve taken on that

Or you end up with carnivorous zebras. Which is just in line with how this year’s going anyway.

There are certainly more pigs and cows and chickens, so they aren’t at risk of going extinct. And they’re being slaughtered already, so this would give a use to it, instead of landfill.

Yeah, I can’t help but wonder if this guy is at an accredited zoo or a “zoo” like Joe Exotic owned a “zoo”.

Would all of the pigs and chickens that can be processed at the shut down meat plants help some zoos?  I get there are some logistics issues, but it would be a food source for the carnivores at least.

The issue is being able to pay for the food, water, electricity, vets, and other care for the animals without the venue from guests which is required to meet that budget.

Jumping straight to euthanasia seems like a wild leap to me. There have to be other options. Also, couldn’t plenty of employees be kept on, distanced from each other?

1000% with you that I want this to be the end of zoos. They’ve had no meaningful impact on any form of conservation (true conservation is protecting animals in their wild habitats not kidnapping them their homes and families, and locking them in cages) and should be banished to the past like so many cruel, outdated
