Apple won't give them access to the kernel code to to verify/secure to NSA standards. iPhones do have hardware encryption, but so do many Android devices and this announcement will likely boost the production of Android devices with hardware encryption.

I'm not so sure you could classify it as heavy, or big. It's about the size of a glasses case, and weighs less than a MacBook charger. The USB power is an issue if you're charging tablet & phone, but if you charge two phones it's fine. It is a great option for traveling as many hotel rooms don't have enough power…
