Makes sense with 100hp less than the base 4 cylinder turbo Camaro I guess it doesn’t need all that heft. There are definitely design elements tipping their hats to both muscle cars though.
Oh look, a modified Corvette with less horsepower. Or is this the Camaro platform? I like the looks, but remember that at the end of the day Opel is just GM. Honestly this is what the next Corvette should look like, it reeks of Stingray with some nice hints of classic Firebird thrown in.

Modern GM cars are indeed nice where the digital readouts can be changed with a few button presses, probably saves them a chunk not making specific parts for can/us.
Most cars sold in Canada already have mph on the speedo as well as kmh and can be imported to the US without any modifications. You can get a letter from the manufacturer stating the vehicle meets US spec and you’re good.

Far more likely it is due to regional taste preferences. Canadians like things that taste good, and Americans will eat anything. I’ve noticed many US BBQ sauces have more of a vinegar base than those which originate up here.
