I think there was a period of the show (which the ladies eventually put their foot down against) that tried to up the sex appeal, but I remember most of the show being pretty good on the “strong, capable” women front.

That’s true. I try not to give in to knee jerk reactions (sometimes I fail) anyway, but I do have a tendency to forget this.
