Too much frankencar, and boy racer chopping. Someone else can take the risk, I say CP as this thing is a safety hazard on the best of days.

I, too, read the title and with the pic, thought “pure Jalop NP”. Then I read the article. Rust, 300K+ miles, cut up suspension, seller admitted “ok” interior, rust..... CP all the way.

You had me going all-in NP until I started reading about the “modifications” to the suspension. Short cuts (pun maybe intended?) are a giant red flag to me. $3,000 isn’t much, but taking a hacksaw to the factory springs tells me that this project quite possibly might wind up a lot like an expensive and

Plagiarizer! This is almost verbatim of what the Hallmark card my wife gave me yesterday said.

Probably the same people who downvote YouTube videos of kittens.

One of them admitted he can’t read and thought it said $7900, then voted without reading the accompanying article.

My brother’s first car was an 89 eddie bauer and I agree that this is no eddie bauer. They just added the seats and badge, as further proof, I’m almost sure the top of the line eddie bauer was never offered with manual windows. I think this an xl trim trying to be an eb and as such is a CP all day long!

“Thanks for the F shack. Love, Dirty Mike and the Boys (and the raccoons)“

I had to look up a sales brochure, because the XL or Custom is a compelling argument. So, for 87, it doesn’t appear that an XL was available. It looks like Custom, XLT and Eddie Bauer. If the Bronco did have a rear cargo lamp, it has to be XLT trim or above, and this truck appears that this truck has that option. .

Well, if he is willing to bump off $3,000 per day, I’d give him a call sometime around March 9th...

And there’s my band name of the day... bizarre raccoon orgy.

Nope. Not even close.

Didn’t the EB trucks also come with a FULL gauge dashboard that included a tachometer? I also smell a rat on this ad. This is NO EB Bronco.

Not just the color, but the EBs all had power windows and locks, which this one doesn’t have.

That’s not a true Eddie Bauer. First off, paint’s all wrong (which you explained, plausibly), but the fact that it’s so lightly optioned is the biggest red flag. Plain plastic door panels (no Eddie Bauer cloth covered ones), crank windows, base gauge cluster all scream base model Bronco that just got some nice EB

I was gonna say, that 2 tone red and tan doesn’t look right. It looks awful to me, so I’m glad someone else is saying thats not a factory combo.

Agreed, CP. Definitely has had a re-spray (poorly) with the wrong color combo; that’s an XLT color package with Eddie Bauer seats and badges. See post #3 last JPEG (from 88 brochure, but the only thing that was changed in 88 was the addition of the 5.8L): http://broncozone.com/topic/22885-1988-bronco-dealer-brochure/

The radio might be period correct, but it is not original. The word “Panasonic” is a dead giveaway. I also wonder if there is other evidence of an aftermarket stereo system that would explain that random wire...
