@joe.glass: He is reporting mbps while your torrent client is most likely reporting MBps. 1MBps = approx 8mbps. Therefore a 30mbps connection will get you about 3MBps speed on torrents. I have FioS and frequently see 3MBps speeds in either direction.

@superhappyfuntime: That would work too. Though in my experience, and it's been a long time since I saw one of those EL sheets, I would think that the LEDs would be brighter. But I could be wrong.

I'm sorry, but this isn't really all that impressive. I have been modding computers for years now and did stuff like with with EL wire before most people knew what the stuff was. The problem is, as others have said, the thickness of the wire.

@Sora57: Redundancy is critical for any DR planning, however it is not always possible. The reasons can be technical, financial, geographical, political, or even contractual. Therefore, the mobile switches come in quite handy.
