Yeah. Women should just ignore those pesky rape and death threats.

You forgot Sisters. It belongs in the first group.
So basically, lack of diversity = stuff you're not interested in. You'd like Comics Panel to focus more of their content on things that tend to interest straight white men? Know where you can find that? Pretty much any other comic site on the internet.
I like that Kurt Russell apparently decided that there was no reason he shouldn't get two movies out of that mustache.
Later today I'm making the 90 min drive to the AFI Silver in Maryland with two old high school friends, who I love but don't get to hang out with often enough these days, to see The Hateful Eight Road Show. Philly is actually a bit closer to me but all the theaters showing it there are multiplexes, who I don't trust…
Bone Tomahawk. Still can't get THAT scene out of my head.
You were far too kind, honestly.
I love that aspect of Carpenter. A lot of his earlier films, those you mentioned along with Assault on Precinct 13 and Escape from New York, are essentially westerns dressed up as different genres.
You can just throw the Village of the Damned disc in the trash. The other three are aces.
Right. Good catch.
Dear Cappadocius,
I think the The Counselor is the closest we'll get to unfiltered McCarthy on film and that went over like a lead balloon (though I kind of loved it). I know most people prefer No Country for Old Men, but that movie is more Coen than McCarthy. The Counselor genuinely feels like one of his novels (even though it never…
Yeah, I was kind of hoping that Fury Road would trigger some kind of mass awakening and everyone would suddenly realize how boring and generic these movies are and stop talking about them.
Yeah, I think Collateral is a tighter and all around more accessible film than MV but I still really like both of them.
Definitely check out Miami Vice. A lot of people talk shit on that movie but it's basically Mann taking the aesthetic he established in Collateral and pushing it as far as he can. There's really nothing else like it. If possible watch the theatrical cut instead of the Director's cut.
I saw Mogwai live once and couldn't hear properly for two days afterwards. So yeah…pretty great show.
Glad I could help make someone's day! Their website lists October 27th as the release date. I'm pretty stoked myself, although I can't decide if I'm more excited for MD or The Brood which apparently comes out the week before.
Criterion actually just announced that they're releasing Mulholland Drive this fall.
Going through an early Godard phase. I'd seen Breathless and Masculine Feminine years ago but neither one really resonated with me at the time. Yesterday I watched Band of Outsiders, which I really liked and Perriot Le Fou which I absolutely fucking loved despite the crappy transfer on my DVD copy (Criterion is…
Sounds like you were watching the theatrical cut. Do yourself a favor and track down Blade Runner: The Final Cut on Blu-Ray or DVD. It gets rid of the unnecessary voiceover narration and the studio mandated happy ending.
