I can't drink carbonated beverages or sugar. I only get water as an option at all restaurants unless they serve Nestea Zero (which is probably .1%). So I will order food and tip well and yes, I will put some LIQUID crystal light in my water which doesn't make a mess.

I do this, but the only drinks I can consume in a restaurant are still water, espresso beverages and tea, which can get kinda boring. But I also don't eat out much.
