Yes, I'm Canadian. And that's crazy! We had a shooting downtown several years ago on Boxing Day - it was a teenage girl caught in crossfire coming out of a store, but I believe that's the only death we've had in Toronto. And it wasn't Boxing Day-related, as far as I can recall.

I worked at a movie theatre for several years and we would be absolutely dead for the first matinee but then busy with people after they'd shopped their hearts out and needed a break. Still, I wouldn't want to work retail for any money on Boxing Day.

Oh dear god, the poor pets! They'd get trampled if you let them out.

This is why I don't leave the house on Boxing Day (Dec. 26). Even driving around is awful and I imagine it's worse on Black Friday in the US. Besides, most retailers now have Boxing Week sales and since I'm not buying big ticket electronics or clothes, chances are I'll be able to get what I want online or on Dec. 27th.

Oh I've bought some off eBay too! But I have $50 in store credit and if I was employed, I could buy them using their generous layaway program.

I'm unemployed right now, so I can't even afford Groupon! But thank you :)

That sounds amazing.

OMG I want it.

I love the look of the double-collar. And it's not super, in-your-face trendy so you can wear it for many seasons!

It's a mutant.

I WOULD like to get myself these:

I LOVE THIS BAG.

Oooh, that's probably it. This was a large rectangular dish that I think was meant for the oven and it was on top of 2 burners.

Maybe! I have no idea, but we've never done it since.

Holy crap! But Pyrex is meant to be heated. I mean, it's Pyrex! My mom has a ton of Pyrex stuff from her single days (like almost 40 years ago) because it lasts so long. Maybe there's a maximum temperature? IDK.

I'm so glad that our Thanksgiving (in Canada) is at the beginning of October and not the end of November, like yours. Because December is all parties and family do's. There's so little time to eat healthy and decompress!

I'm not being snarky, I just was confused by the marshmallows, which, if you looked at the whole thread, have been explained to me.

Hi Cousin!

Yes! My dad was so pissed because I have had serious accidents with flying broken things before (almost lost an arm) but my mom kept saying 'It's Pyrex! You're supposed to heat it up!' I think it was 30 year old Pyrex? Maybe that was the problem.

I know! I've had good ones at restaurants and other people's homes and they are DIVINE.
