Seriously. I wanna clockwork orange this motherfucker. Strap in and mage him listen to rape victims until he realizes what his crying about his pos rapist son did to himself, he more importantly did to the victim. He ruined his own life. That precious little buttercup, can suck it up.

Yeah but the thing is, he just doesn’t give a fuck. To care about having hurt her, he’d have to acknowledge she was more than some OBJECT he used for his own gratification. (For a mere 20 minutes.)

It made my brain freeze reading that. Everything was about his son. There was nothing about the woman his son victimized. He is just as awful as his son.

I can, but it took some heavy processing.

I don’t know. The positive side of me thinks that even twenty years ago this guy would never have even seen the inside of a courtroom, and that the story would never have been reported on, like a million other stories just like it. That society has at least made itself willing to make a diagnosis, even if the cures

I mean he named his son Brock...

That it does, that it does. I’m glad I didn’t have to read that.

rapist tree sounds like some horrifying version of the womping willow from the darkest timeline version of HP. *shudders*

That’s all the son thinks he did wrong too. He blames binge drinking and sexual promiscuity. Wonder where he got that.

after reading the dad’s letter, i think its safe to say that whatever brains got the rapist into stanford came from his mother.

I drank a shit ton of wine last night and I managed not to rape anyone.

“By having people like Brock educating others on college campuses is how society can begin to break the cycle of binge drinking and its unfortunate results.” - holy shit, does he really think the only lesson anyone should take away from this is not to binge drink??? How about DON’T RAPE

It would seem the rapist-acorn doesn’t fall far from the tree.

There are, of course, people who are forever judged by 4 seconds of their lives. 20 minutes is time enough to enjoy a sitcom, a quick meal, a short walking of a dog, a shower, a bombing, an earthquake, a nap... 20 minutes is more than enough to be both influential and insignificant. 20 years can go to rot in 4

And my only thought: How many times has his father forced his “20 minutes of action” on some victim?

It’s still obscene but I’m actually surprised the percentage of women murdered by romantic partners is 37.5%. I expected it to be higher. Do you know if those figures include former romantic partners like in some of the stories above?

Am I the only one surprised by how few of these were perpetrated with firearms? This wasn’t just a crazy week for men murdering their partners... it was a crazy week for particularly gruesome murders.

You’re right. We should focus on all murders and the overwhelming amount of all murders are committed by men so we clearly have a man problem in this country. A good start would be barring men from owning guns and requiring all men to under go annual psychological screenings and any man who shows violent tendencies

I understand the desire to get people to stop treating this violence like background noise. But I’m worried that constant promotion of incidents like these don’t make society more likely to deal with the problems, they just depress the shit out of women.
