I wish I had 50 upvotes to give this comment.

Everybody makes their own shit. There's a popular children's book explaining that particular concept. I'm not entirely sure how that's relevant to this music scenario, though.

I don't know what's happening here but I'm just gonna keep liking all of these.

Dude, did Will Toledo personally murder your entire family and burn their corpses? You're so worked up about this. Yeah, their name is dumb. Most band names are dumb. Just calling your band something as generic as The Cars is dumb. Who the fuck cares? That has nothing to do with anything. You're just being shitty to

What I'm saying is that the $50,000 Matador lost would be nothing to him. It's a pretty fucking massive deal for them. They're an excellent indie label who try to release music from as many cool artists as they can, and them losing that money and having to destroy their records thoroughly sucks.

Vajonah Hill, yes.

Will Toledo has released more albums of original music under the name Car Seat Headrest in the past six years than The Cars released in their career. This much is fact.

SPOILERS FOR TUSK

Basically. *Seth Rogen laugh*

It is weird and kinda interesting, but Depp shits on all of that with a performance so broad he makes Chief Wiggum look like Michael Chiklis on The Shield.

There are elements of Tusk that work really well, which is strange when you consider how outlandish the premise is. Justin Long, Michael Parks, and Haley Joel Osment really committed to their roles and did the best they could. Without Depp's character, I'd probably consider it a mild success. Depp, however, is without

Oh, the "accent" is québécois bullshit all the way. He's playing the same bumbling dipshit Canadian detective he played in Tusk, which was otherwise pretending to be a serious horror film. He ruined that movie so hard he should have been nominated for a Razzie, but Kevin Smith has seen fit to develop a trilogy of

That trailer filled me with rage. I used to love Kevin Smith, but he's been more weed than man for about a decade now.

RIP family friend and guinea pig. Losing people and pets totally sucks ass. That's why I won't get another pet.

It is, and that just shows how ridiculously talented Frank Ocean is. Too bad he doesn't appear to be putting out another new album this millennium. :(

Fair enough. I'm a big Matador fan, too, so I'll admit to being biased. Even if it was their mistake, I just hate to see another example of a rich dude needlessly shitting on "the little guy."

This article on his most prominent alleged victim, Juanita Broaddrick, is a good summary of the case against Bill. Personally, I believe her. I'd prefer to think he's not a rapist, but her statements are pretty compelling.

Legally, yes, he does have that right. At the same time, however, he looks like a dick for going after an indie label like Matador, especially considering all the commercials and bullshit that Cars songs have been used in over the years. He really couldn't have just let this one slide?

It's not stealing if they believed permission had been given. Technically, they were wrong, but there's no good reason for Ocasek to have been a dick about it and not just let a fan used his song. He should have been flattered that somebody as talented as Will Toledo saw him as an influence.

Is this not a major textbook example of "the strange entitlement of fan culture?" Nobody owes you some funny tweets or Instagram pics. It's a television show that takes place on television, and while I don't watch it regularly and think Colbert is pretty toothless now that he's at CBS, the last thing the show needs is
