I’m glad he is convicted. But one gets the feeling that, if the victim was a young black man and not a white woman, the killer would have been able to get off with the usual ‘fearing for his life’ excuse.

This poor guy. He most likely was holed up in his place, only getting his ‘news’ from Alex Jones, Newsmax, and the like. The result? Everybody and everything is something to be feared, a threat that disserves be shot.

I like that the judge said he’s getting the maximum sentence because he needed to make sure the shooter couldn’t hurt anybody else. Monahan clearly isn’t of stable mind, and given time, he would certainly grow more unstable.
