One redeeming quality - they are exceptionally good value on the used market. I’d take sub-$20k for a good looking sedan “coupe” for a teenager’s first car over a boring Civic any day.

One of the weirdest things about living in the 21st century is watching SNL skits and Onion headlines go from satire to reality.  It’s a bit disturbing.

These days a kid would take a week off from school after a trauma like that.
